Define cheap.
Some places merely dis-assemble, clean the components, replace oil and gas, then call that a rebuild. (hint), it's not rebuilt. Have it done right with all new seals, wipers, o-rings, etc.,,,, should cost +/- $75.

Rebuilding a shock is inspecting and replacing everything that needs to be replaced. That does not mean that everything always needs to be replaced.

agreed, seals dont always need replacing. also 75 for a shocks is lot. only thing i can think of that i ever has to charge anyone that much was for a pair of float x shocks that were totally screwed and needed almost every seal replaced. most rebuild for a standard shock should be in the 35 to 40 range with seals all replaced. for me deppending on shock brand (seal kits cost different amounts) its usaully in the 30-35 range to rebuild a shock and replace the seals that need be replaced.
