I have been riding motorcycles for 40 +- years. I really like to ride. But I am already planning another Gaspesie trip for next season. Cann't wait, last year we did the Gaspesie going clockwise from Becueville. This year plan on reversing. We did 1600 miles from Saturday 1pm to Friday 1pm. In the whole trip we had maybe a half day of rough trails. This was due to the trail being closed and reopened due to snow storms. I love the sport. Only sport you can really open up and go as fast as your abilities allow you to.

Nope your not crazy I've done the gaspesie 4 times somtimes the whole outside some down the middle 2 trails We usually only have 4 days but rip to get there and rip to get back 1480 from St georges taking 597 instead of the north east section of 5. aNOTHER nice loop is go to Matane take the 3 hour ferry ride to Goubout then ride down the north shore of the st lawrence to Quebec city truck across the river back to the Buece. No better ride than the roler coaster (umm I mean trail from Godbout to Baie Comeau.

Do you ride from Maine or trailer up to Gaspesie? I want to ride from Presque Isle or Caribou thru New Brunswick upto Gaspesie next winter. Any tips besides bringing lots of gas money ?

I trailer to St Georges. Did it last season first time, 1,600 miles. Hit the trails 1pm Saturday back to starting point 1pm Friday.

Not crazy! I am already planning my camp trips! Had the sled out the other day--washed off the dust greased and cleaned the trailer!

When you think about snowmobiling everyday--you know your OK!

I have heard of plenty people starting in Maine to do it, but I have only trailered up to Quebec first then unloaded. I would say you should cross the border straight into Quebec though via Estcourt Station, then you won't have to deal with new brunswick trail passes, and the ride over through Allagash to Estcourt from the Portage-Eagle Lake-Ft. Kent corridor is always a nice ride with low traffic. Also don't forget money for the bars, but make sure to park the sled for the night before even having one beer. Also make sure each snowmobile has at least one mirror on it. I guarantee you will be stopped by the trail cops at least once, and they have a law up there that each sled needs at least one mirror physically attached to it (I was told the ones that strap around your hand are not acceptable by one of the cops that stopped me up there).

Also I have found that if you are nice to the locals and at least make an attempt to speak french no matter how stupid you sound they will give you alot more respect.
