Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any property around Grand Marais or Seney that they would rent out a spot to park a trailer for snowmobile season.?? With gas prices rising, my Dad and I have been pondering the idea of leaving our trailer up there to save on gas. We do camp in our trailer so we would be staying right there. We try to make it up 2 times a month. Obviously a plowed road is a must. We are open to rules, and would be respectful of your property. Just putting a feeler out there, and see if any options arrive.

Thanks........

Tester's Saw Mill

Look them up on the web.

Also called Snow Belt Lodging.

Carol and Herm. Stayed there many times. And I know they do exactly what you are talking about.

Herm is bit much to work with but he is OK. Just set in his ways.

Do you guys have one of those toy hauler/RV units or do you have your snowmobile trailer set up to stay in?

No we just have a snowmobile trailer set up to stay in.

Not as bad as the Pine Stump ass.

Just abide by his rules and you will be set.

No power that I know of.

Just give him and Carol a call.

Right in the lavender corners. Great place to ride from.

So you are looking for place to store your sleds, and you want to be able to stay in your trailer there too? Herm & Carol may let you rent a space to leave your trailer and sleds, but I doubt they would let you shack up in it when your there. They are in bussines renting cabins to snowmobilers. They don't offer camping.
Besides sled maintainence is always a issue if leaving them UP. It's inevitiable that things happen. It can ruin your trip. The only way I would leave my sled UP is if I had access to heated storage and the ability to do rutine maint.

We stay at testers every time we go to the UP. amazing place to stay at and an even better place to ride out of. im not sure if herm would let you just pack up your trailer and just leave it there, that sounds like something herm wouldnt do, unless you were really good friends with him. but the only way to find out for sure is to call and ask.

herm is a great guy, but like people said, abide by his rules and you wont have any problems. dont mean to scare you but if you break his rules he will yell at you. he is a fiesty old man that doesnt take shit from anyone.

oh and one more thing, he doesnt like pipes and cans, and dont wreck his trails.

So does this Snow Belt Lodge have a website, I looked but couldn't find one?
mitch437
No website. Just the number. Just give them a call.

I know first hand they actually rent a space to leave your trailer. May be just for close friends. But worth the try.
