This was my first time fishing this Lake. We caught 50 walleyes in 10 hours all about the same size as shown, plus my 14" crappie inducing a big sh!t eating grin.
Different fishing for sure. You can kinda see how the boats just line up. You drop you hook over the side of the boat and bam...

We have family in Kelliher, and I used to fish Red Lake all the time. All the years we fished it, we never pulled a Crappie out of there. I've caught a few rather large Northerns out of there fishing the mouth of the Tamarack.

Grew up in Waskish, still call it home. My mom has the little gift/antique shop on the south side of town, stop in for some wild rice or tee shirt.
Fishing is good. Problem is finding keepable fish, most are to big and have to be put back in the water.

^^ No doubt. Out of 50 walleye caught, only one was a 'keeper'. It seemed better odds to catch one over 26" then to catch one under 17".

The year before walleye fishing opened again on Red Lake me, my dad and my brother in law went out and caught 100 walleye and 34 crappie (all the same size, HUGE) all in 3.5 hours. it is the best fishing i have ever seen anywhere. we had 2 fish on so often it was funny and a few times all 3 of us had fish on at the same time.
