how many miles on it? anything over 2500, the 700 motor is a time bomb. so since its summer now, just pull the motor and either replace the PTO crank bearing or put in the upgrades dual bearings

This is one of my favorite pictures of my 95 xcr 600.

chances are. it will blow up unless you get lucky or have torque arms.

anyone know of a "black chrome" windshield for the edge chassis? hopefully short like a 10in or under?

BS once again. bsflag.gif

Let me guess, your 700 VES blew up so you think they all blow up? The 700 motor is very reliable.

Just another case of bad luck. An overwelming majority of 700 VES motors will last 5000 miles on original parts. If the motor blows before that you got a lemon(something went wrong), the carbs were dirty, bad fuel, blown belts(which will bend a crank in a hurry), etc. There is NO reason your average 700 VES will not last 5000 miles at a minimum.

idk im not gonna fight about it. that will just ruin the thread. just from what i have seen the bigblock motors did not last up to peoples expectations.i know mine went at 2576, and i have heard of many other not lasting much longer then that.

Hey my 700 Edge X has 7600 miles on it and I havent had to rebuild it yet. It has 135 PSI in each cylender. And it still tops out at 115 MPH.

nope, only 144
raysxc700
any 700 twin will out last any 800 ever built
my 97 700 i have replaced 3 cylinders /pistons locked it up 8 times you would think thats hard on a crank
and the crank is stock and you know whats funny is 4100 miles and it will still beat any stock 800 in 500 ft when your racing 500ft is all that counts
now iam not here to piss on anyones thread but to make the statement that the 700 in not reliable is well to bad
