I found this post over on DOOtalk.com:

stuff like this just irks me...

Here is a quote form the article...

QUOTE
The venture aimed to increase volumes of Canadian crude at the two refineries from 60,000 barrels a day to more than 500,000 barrels a day by 2015. ConocoPhillips said the Wood River project, alone, was valued at over $4 billion, when first announced.

a 10X increase with private money to produce MORE oil...and the Sierra Club gets it shut down...

Here is link to article http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articl...41_FORTUNE5.htm

It is about time we start demanding the politicians create some laws to protect more than just the owls and the chincillas!!!!!!!!

I have no desire to ruin the environment, and NO desire to allow the future to be traded for cheap oil now, but this type of stuff HAS to stop!!!

Isn't it sad how the politicians blame high gas prices on the oil companies when they won't allow:
Drilling in Alaska
Drilling off the coasts
Drilling in the gulf
Shut down every attempt at a new refinery
Won't allow oil from shale on fed lands
Won't allow oil from coal
Only Bush has allowed a new Nuclear power plant permit
Won't allow hydro-electric dams if some snail could be endangered.

We are going to be up the creek in a few years when the middle east turns off the spigot

Forget turning off the spigot, they can't get any additional oil out of the ground right now. I think they will start to run low before they turn it off. Way to much money to be made keeping it flowing.

You didn't understand what I was talking about.

When we/Israel end up at war with Iran to stop their nuke program, or when they decide to use a nuke on Israel, the price of crude from the middle east will jump. 10 years or so down the road when Russia, China, or both want more territory, they will have the oil to run their militaries and we won't. There are any number of scenarios that would happen in the next 5, 10 or 20 years that could disrupt the flow. We can't wait until then to start drilling. These dumbass democrats in washington are only interested in keeping power, not our national security, and certainly not our economy.

You get it, I get it, but the slugs in DC must be more afraid of the granola nut clusters then our enemies. No common sense.

Try to get everyone you know to go to www.americansolutions.com and sign the petition to start drilling here.

It is an organization that Newt Gingrich started that is trying to pressure politicians to allow drilling in this country. They got 100,000 signatures in one day after Newt was on Hannity's show.

Maybe this will get their attention.

I am not opposed to more drilling. I think it is a must in the short term. Long-term we have to focus all of our efforts on renewable energy sources. We need more wind, solar, and ethanol. People need to let corn ethanol be. It is laying the groundwork and infrastructure for the next generation of ethanol (cellulosic). The corn ethanol industry has had very little impact on the food prices. It has accounted for only 3% of the 40%+ increase that we have seen in food prices over the past 3 years. Another item you never here discussed about corn ethanol is that 33% of the corn used is returned to the food chain through DDGS. For those that don’t know DDGS is a very high protein feed that can be used buy most livestock. Ethanol is not the big villain that big oil and the food industry make it out to be. Funny that the people who are affected the most financially are the ones spreading all of the lies about corn ethanol. That being said we are probably close to maxing out the amount of corn ethanol that we can produce. Cellulosic ethanol will be a big help in the long term in helping the US gain its energy independence. The down side to Cellulosic is that we are 3-5 years away from making it fezable from an industrial standpoint but given the time we will get there. Think of ethanol in terms of an S-curve. Corn ethanol is towards the end of the curve with very little left to gain in terms of efficiency. Cellulosic is at the very start of the curve. Given time we can move up the S-curve.

What is a "anti-american" ? Is it maybe someone that does not like the direction our leaders have taken? Or maybe it's someone that doesn't bite hook line and sinker into the lies and corruption our so called leaders spew? Or is it anyone that has different views than yours?

the Marxist views of Obama are very anti-American, if you havn't noticed the company that Obama keeps are largely anti-American, and they are a big influence on him. Does the words of Obama's mentor point out what he was taught for 20 years in his church, "god damn America." Sure sounds anit-American to me.
