I was relieved of my job earlier this afternoon.

On the bright side, we live in Altoona, which is (reportedly) the highest point in Polk County. We'll stay dry. Those of you who are affected by the high water--our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Coincidentally, that was one avenue I am interested in going down.

I've worked in the cooperative/agriculture industry for as long as I can remember, but I am tiring of the long hours and the type of work in general. It's time to open up my options.

Sorry to hear about that hopefully everything works out for ya.

Needless to say, my motorboating will be limited to the "home lake" for the time being.

Let me know and I can get an interview for you. Just keep in mind most saturdays and atleast 2 nights a week you will be working. Also about a minimum of 50-55 hours a week. The upside is great income for unlimited motorboating.
snofisher
that suck matt...we just closed the app period for new hires down here, no experience needed at $40,000 + to start with full bennies and 2 weeks vacation...

do you need a place to store your cat??? let me know i be Matt K has room...LOL
f7leno1
sorry about that man... upside there is plenty of work out there for someone that wants to work

ProV, sorry to hear the news. Just went things couldn't get much worse for Iowan's.
Hey, let's have a poker tourney...........all proceeds go to PROVIA!!!!
ProV1IA
I'm not too concerned about it. There's a lot of upside to this. I wasn't using my degree, and this will be a good opportunity to begin doing so.

And yes, I will be looking for new sled storage.
cmanz28
Dang man, I'm sorry to hear that too!!! But I hope it brings good things for ya tho!!!!

Sorry to hear about that. There are a lot of people hiring and you'll come out of this with a better job than you had. I'll ask around but as you know the homebuilding biz is kinda slow. Nick's idea sounds like a good move. Good luck!

More upside: I get to watch the opening round of the US Open today!

There is the silver lining to this dark cloud. Enjoy your time off.
Good luck in the hunt for gainful employment... hope you find something you really like to do.

Matt that just bites! Sorry to hear this, but if you were not happy then it is time for a change. As for the motorboating I'm sure the "Home Lake" is agreeable to more then just boating!

Call Jeff about your sled. The trailer is handy and if we can help out we will. If he cleaned the garage out we could fit it in there.

sorry to hear about that... hope you can find a new job!!
MATTK
Jeez Matt, that does suck, no matter how much you dont like your job, thats a shock.
If you need someplace for the sled I can help out, the shop is a little cramped right now but we can always fit another one in. let me know.
