Full Version: How far to place EGT probes from piston skirts?
Putting a avenger III on my sled. How far do you place the probes. I dont remember or cannot locate the information. Thanks, Blake

IMO (And Aaen's) 8-10" from piston face. Mine are at 9". 400 mains equals 1220 F at WOT 1/4 mile run. Make them all the same.
I was told 7" from the exhaust port.

I called Rich Daly today. He said 8" from front wall of piston as well. That is what I will go with I guess. Thanks, BC
