Gang I need your opinion about something the NHSA has done recently,

They have met and decided that Rock Maple Racing doen't need to come to the Grass Drags this fall in NH.
They told Tara that they dont believe they draw enough spectators to continue with their program.

She runs arguably the most perfessional curcuit of snowmobile & ATV racing in the northeast.
They brought hundreds of racers, pit crews, family members and specators that all paid admission to get in.
They have been there for only two years and have improved each year in all areas, purchased the dirt for the track etc. etc.

This wisdom just came down this past week, and RMR is stuck with 1000's of dollars worth of promotions for the race this year that are already made.

NHSA is making a huge mistake in my opinion, Rock Maple racing supported the NHSA at every turn as they work in the same state several times a year, Rock maple is a great operation that brings lots of kids into the sport of snowmobiling each year....

Is that how you want our snowmobile association to treat friends of the sport?

Also.....Mr. Peterson, the land owner that loans the land for the event, is the one that loses the most, all those gate fees GONE!

Great job NHSA........ lame1.gif

It just goes to show that the NHSA is incapable of handling an event themselves and need to rapidly down scale it to prevent it from becoming a total failure. This clearly highlights the NHSA's incompetence and lack of forward thinking on all parts.

Dirt Dummy
They will fuck up the whole event. veryangry.gif

i felt that last years even was a little over the top
and it got too far away from what was important
they dont call it the grass drags for nothing

however i did like the new pit road
seemed the RMR folks didnt really mingle with the grass or water folks
but they were never a nuisance

i also liked the swap meet location im sure you all saw that this year
im usually to busy racing to run across the street to the swap

they just need better planning to mix the whole event up
i have been racing for 9 years now and it just keeps getting better
Epping is the premier track on the east coast
sure beats driving to Minnesota

mackenzie95
It's not all about the Fremont race in my opinion, its the fact that the current board can't see past the end of their collective noses to see that RMR is building SINGLEHANDEDLY! the future of snowmobiling in the state, they bring hundreds of little kids on 120's out in the cold all winter with their Mom's & Dad's to ride sleds all over the northeast. How can you turn your back on an organization who builds the sport like this?????? I call it very short sighted..... and selfish. Save money at Fremont so they can do what with the money? pay off their moving expenses? hard pill to swallow perhaps, but the truth always is......

Just my thoughts................out

i enjoy the grass drags. for me its the start of the season, it gets me in the swing. to me this seems like total bull shit. i'm not sure who made the decision, but he or she should be shot, the obviously have no clue as to how to do things.

i just remebered my mom's friend is a part of the nhsa, i'll have to ask him what the deal is.

Ask RMR why they need to charge the association $10K+ to be there.

That is not true.
Unless the ASSociation will not allow them to collect their gate fees, forcing RMR to run the event only on entry fees.

I have a basic understanding on how RMR handles the finances of event locations, since we did get them to start having events at New England Dragway.

From what I can tell the NHSA wants to force everybody to give everything with nothing in return, kind of like the do with the snowmobile clubs around NH.

Why not ask the NHSA why they feel that they deserve every penny that the event sees, they want all the volunteers to give and give but never make good on their end of giving. I will find it interesting to see how many volunteers they have this year that will show up with all the little things they need. Let me think what I brought to the event last year, Skid Steer loader with operator, 6.5kw generator, large air compressor, and many other small things I don't want to remember. I look forward to going to the event as a spectator, perhaps I will see all the NHSA county directors who put in for so many hours the past few years and just sat around on their fat asses and did nothing to help anybody, maybe work for once. roflmao.gif

I look forward to the event. beatingdeadhorse.gif

Grass racing is going out fast, its hanging on out of desperation. asphalt, snowcross and powder,,deep deep powder...LOL

Gus,
RMR already has 1 QuadX event scheduled at NED August 10th. I spoke with a member of the NED board of directors about the NHSA / RMR thing the other night they are going to check the Drag schedule and see if they can have Tara bring the October event to NED.
There was also an epiphany at NED the other night.....
Possibly more good things to come.
GroverPC22
Id go to and have been to many events at NED but the last time i went there i paid full price and was only able to see half a show! They ran half track races and canceled most of the event! IM NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN! Especially since i emailed them numerous times and got no response! I guess with large organization they just dont really care about the people that go to their events! Or maybe they have some good excuse on why they couldnt email me back? I bet they were to busy trying to count all there money that they made at this piss poor half event that they ran and ripped the customers off at!!!! Cant wait to watse my money there , i bet they couldnt even do HALF the job the NHSA does and they have numerous full time paid people to do the work!

What kind of event is being proposed at NED? Grass drags?

i went to a nite under the stars or some sort of name like that... i was suppose to to be a full track but cause of rain earlier in the day they only ran half a track. I can understand being upset about that, but rest assured they had to be a safety issue that made them change their mind. NED is very good with their raincheck policy and in all the years I have raced there I have NEVER seen a half-track race - that's not something they normally do. Not going back because of that is like not going back to a restaurant because you got sick after you ate there once. I don't understand that mentality, but to each his own...

This is pathetic, the grass drags used to be fun. It sounds like they are doing everything they can to ensure that doesn't happen anymore.

I've seen a couple 1/2 track races with Q/S but those were day races back when the track leaked up the big end, I don't recall a 1/2 track night race tho....

Ok.
Listen up little boy.
You have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to the Dragway or hell for that matter the grass drags.
Now when it comes to your so called "nite under the stars" was it "Night of Fire" or "Night of Thrills" or perhaps "Jet Cars Under the Stars"?

You will never see any event running a half track if the other half is fouled do to rain, oil, ect... That is unsafe for the drivers and spectators.

That is a shame, regardless of your feelings towards me, NED has some really good events.

We will have:
Quad X and PitX this summer.
SnoX this winter.
And several other Snowmobile related events.

Does that mean you won't try to tag along and hang out in the NHSA trailer when they pay NED for a vender spot?

My wife and I are both share holders at NED, and my father in law is one of the founders. Over the past few years My wife and I have been trying to get SnoX at the track along with other events.
When it comes to the actual drags we only go to the big events Nationals, Jetcars, Ect...

wow, this must be the same shawno that claims he built the track. what a nightmare mess you made, i love it when i go down visit petersons farm and find half buried tires and trash, the former ATV course looks like a crap hole thanks to you, GOOD JOB! and if anyone would like pictures of the track shawno built, just PM me, i will gladly get them to you, i wouldnt want to publicly embarass him, if he did actually build it, but we cant confirm that because he is too ignorant to know how to properly fill out a time card, or submit a bill to paid for all this equipment he brought. Any and all "screwing" of money is due to the former committees Labor Chairperson, who has openly admitted to screwing up the books and nothing can be properly tracked. do you pay a bill in your business if you have no proof of work being done?????????? Oh, and i believe the committee made the decision about RMR, a committee full of volunteers(like you), not the board. But of course you know exactly what you're talking about. maybe someday you will pull your head out of your butt and join the real world.

well, last time i checked, it didnt snow three days after the event, or have ice on the pond, nor do water sources turn green in a matter of three days. maybe you should look closer before you open your mouth. even if it did rain, the ponds should have drained, when they dont drain, they can be called vernal ponds by EPA. Also, i believe my PRR newsletter thanked shawn for donating his time to benefit the club financially, so that must mean they got paid. I'm not knocking anyone for donating time.

So if you and the NHSA feel I made that mess with my Bobcat well then they should cut a check to the PRR for at least $50000.00 because even at the shit bag pay of $10.00 per hour in which they fist fucked their own club out of (for the 36 hours I was there), it would still take me a solid 208 days working 24/7 to do that with my machine.

What is even better is you admitting that I was there verifying my original claim that the NHSA welched out on.

well, last time i checked, it didnt snow three days after the event, or have ice on the pond, nor do water sources turn green in a matter of three days. maybe you should look closer before you open your mouth. even if it did rain, the ponds should have drained, when they dont drain, they can be called vernal ponds by EPA. Also, i believe my PRR newsletter thanked shawn for donating his time to benefit the club financially, so that must mean they got paid. I'm not knocking anyone for donating time.

Here is more to add to your brilliance.

The whole area was once dug out for the CLAY to be used in making bricks.

CLAY DOES NOT ALLOW WATER TO PASS WITH EASE.

Edit.
If the PRR thanked me it was because of my effort. However the secretaries assistant said to me at the NHSA's December meeting that the NHSA had no way to prove I was there and would not pay the PRR.
They NHSA called me a liar in public.
Yet they did thank me in their news letter "Snow Traveler Walker".

Id go to and have been to many NHSA events but the last time i went there i paid full price and was only able to see half a show! They ran half ASS races most of the event! IM NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN!EXCEPT ITS MANDATORY TO BELONG Especially since i emailed them numerous times and got no response! I guess with large organization they just dont really care about the people that go to their events! Or maybe they have some good excuse on why they couldnt email me back? I bet they were to busy trying to count all there money that they made BY FORCING CLUBS TO JOIN THEM at this piss poor half event that they ran and ripped the MEMBERS off at!!!! Cant wait to watse my money there , i bet they couldnt even do HALF the job the LOCAL CLUBS DO and they have VOULENTEERS to do the work!.

FIXED IT FOR YA KID.

The term Vernal Pool was used in the description of area of Grass drags. To be a vernal pool it has to have fairy shrimp, wood frogs, mole salamanders.Vernal pools usually have a clay bottom. The jurisdiction of vernal pools is going to be handled by the wetlands bureau. Years ago,I used to see bodies of water near atv trails, that's why I don't like to see riders off trail. I think it would be a mistake to cut out atv's ,other events besides snowmobiles at the Grass drags. Diversity is good to attract people who would watch, participate in other events, unless it takes too much effort to build additional facilities. Would the watercross be considered a vernal pool or a pond? I see additional regulation in years to come, that if these events aren't grandfathered, are going to have to go thru a long permitting process to have events in or near envirionmental sensitive areas. We will have to have, botanist, biologists, soil engineers, site assessors, to advise and protect us from scrutiny of public for damage to the "ECOSYSTEM" That's a big word nowadays, sometimes it could be over used or used improperly. Ordinances that support ecosystems give lakes, river, streams, etc. rights for protection like an individual has rights. plowking
