They are going to close all the downtown Des Moines bridges this afternoon/evening around 6 pm. Making taffic go around the downtown area. They said the water will be going over the Saylorville Spillway this evening as well, pumping all that water into downtown Des Moines. Anyone feel like sandbagging?

So far so good at our house, the sump pump keeps running, snofisher has petro for the generator if we need it, but let's hope he is around to hook it up, knowing me I won't get something right and fry something good. I'm just a bit worried about our drinking water, I hope we don't lose that, this time around. The Floods of 08 are here! summer_sucks.gif

Just got done looking at the Chopper 13 Sky Cams of Waverly and it doesn't look pretty. There are a lot of sky shots on that web site.

Jeff saw the photos from Waverly and it looks like a mess. Sorry for that. Glad you could help out and get your wife into work.

It just started raining here again! The water is now over the spillway at saylorville and they expect 3 feet of water in downtown Des Moines by 10 am. Isn't it crazy to think that they can tell us how much water and at what time it will flood??? I mean Waverly, Mason City, Iowa Falls, etc. didn't have the excate time and amounts of where it would flood. boogieboy.gif

I think I'll take the porable phone to 3rd or 4th floor today to see the flood. I work in the State Capital in Des Moines and you can get a heck of a view from our windows straight in to down town.

The flying part runs in the family lol. I'm more pissed about the crops being ruined down there than the fence. I'll have the fence back toghether in a couple days once the water goes down. I just hope everyone here stays high and dry.

I know you can put the fence back up, know that there are people out here praying for your crops. It's been a tough year on them so far.

Corn around here isn't looking good I'm afraid with all the rain we are lossing our nitrogen and if that happens it could be a really bad year. Oh well have to have a bad year once in a while. lol.gif
