I want to put some bar hooks on my sled. Who makes some that fit on my stock ProX bars and will not mess the hand warmer?

isnt it a pain in the ass to save the hand warmers off the bars? I do not want to go with out hand or thumb warmers.

No, it's actually quite easy.

Use an air compressor to blow off each grip. (Stick the nozzle of the airgun into the hole on the grip, pull the trigger, and the grip will blow right off.) There's a little piece of tape holding the hand warmer on. There might be a little bit of glue, too, but you can use a hair dryer to loosen the glue. The whole process might take five minutes.

When it's time to put the hooked grips on, use the air compressor again.

Five years ago, I got rid of the straight bars on my Pro-X and replaced them with the one-piece hooked bars (Polaris "aggresive" bars). Even though I had to get a two-piece throttle block, I am super impressed with the hooked bars. I can't image riding without them.

Ok now that doesnt sound that bad. Now where do i find some Polaris race bars?

i bought the 800/440 xr bars and cut the bend off the throttle side. slid the throttle block on and rewelded it. save me buying a two piece block and drove her hard for four years with no problems.

One-piece. You won't be able to slide the throttle block over the handlebar hook/bend -- that's why you need a two-piece block. Before you invest in a set of aggressive bars, visit someone who has a Firecat and sit on the sled and hold the bars. Firecat handlebars are the same exact bars as Polaris's aggressive bars. A company in Canada makes them ... and more than one snowmobile magazine has called the handlebars the best in the business.

The picture above shows the two-piece block that I installed on my 2003 Pro-X.
The picture below shows the complete setup.

where can i get a 2 piece block?

Can you buy handwarmers that cover the hooked portion of the bars? In other words, warmers that would be longer to cover the complete length of the grips.

i dont know if they would be able to bend smooth with the curvature of the bar hook.
bantam
you can buy warmers for hooked bars, check out RSI racing
SSnthe10s
would the RSI hooks fit in my stock Prox bars. I know when i put fly bars on my rxl the ID was way to small for my sport tech hooks.
02pro-x440
they will work on any stock steel bars. however tag and fly aluminum bars have a smaller i.d.

cool. Maybe some of the RSI hooks and RSI hooked warmers would be a good thing. I already have some of the ODI grips.

The Polaris bars that I bought directly from Polaris came with the warmers already installed. All I had to do was plug them in. Although the hooks do a great job of keeping my hands from sliding off the ends of the bars during fast runs on bumped-up trails, I can't see the need for the hooks themselves to be heated. Most of your time will be spent holding on to the heated portion, and you'll find that on "high," the warmers get HOT.

That sounds pretty half ass, I don't want to break pieces off to make something work on my nice sled.
bradk
you cant even tell there are pieces missing when there on the bars. its just as solid as it was before

You had better luck than I did. I used a Dremel tool, but eventually the plastic just broke.

SSnthe10s, what happened to the picture of Dime in your avatar?
