Fricken unbelievable! I live 25 minutes from there. the power of water is amazing. The damn held, the water starting going over county road A, then totally annihilated the road and the woods on it's way to finding the Wisconsin river.

You can't contain mother nature for ever.
side note...
Did everyone know that Governor Doyle was golfing at his campaign fund raising event Tuesday June 10th in the middle of all this? Didn't want to upset the big check books I guess.

I thought that Lake Delton was controlled by a dam? If so, why didn't they let some water out? With Gov. Doyle, I guess you can say the same thing for anyone, what was anyone going to do about it. But, he is the governor of Wisconsin, I didn't hire him to be golfing in a time of crisis.

Half of politics is your image and I bet if he was a Republican Gov, the media would have raked him over the coals for it.
If he wants to stand in front of Lake Delton and say he's doing everything he can its a big line of BS.
I thought that Lake Delton was controlled by a dam?
One end was a huge earth berm (levee) and highway. The water went higher than the dam adjacent to the berm and flowed over the road and washed out the berm. Thats what I got from the news reports.

Did any of you see the vid of that house getting swept away? Absolutely incredible! That house had to be 3500 sq/ft and that water took it right off its foundation in a matter of SECONDS!
