When you insure your sled check out plating your machine through autopac and put collision fire and theft on it through JJ Reich and Associates. I'm told that you can insure pretty well two sleds for the price of one going that way.
Have a good one.

ya i would suggest getting colision and theft for your sled. especially theft.
i think im going to get full coverage this year as last winter ws a bit close for comfort in the damages and when someone tried to swipe it.

Just put basic insurance on the sled and put an Arctic Cat cover over the sled........They will think it's a cat and won't steal it!!

SOme safety's are transferable, but it all depends on provincial rules as to whats acceptable for brake wear etc., so that's why the resafety...it's $85.00, and if it was just done should be easy. You sled insurance with MPI will likely be in that $500-$800 range if you put full coverage on, and so help you god you ever have a claim...good luck with that!!

The only thing that is correct is that it did happen in the Valley. I wasn't driving and it was not on the Snoman trail...it was Thomas Logging road.

Its a sled no need for full coverage unless new -2yrs old
But Ontario is much more strict then here, especially seeing some of the POS on the road around here
All I am saying it was certified(safetied) less then 2 months ago so why should I have to pay $85 to have it recertified

If only life were that simple
Besides you think a club member wants to spend his time handing out tickets or go ride the trails???
Beside you run into lots of legal BS if you allow clubs to hand out tickets
I was and still am a TP in Ontario and all we could do is give out warnings and trespass notices
Like I mentioned earlier its $100 cry me a river
$85 bucks should be peanuts then. Wow, some people don't seem to want to pay for things that they don't feel they need...

Oh sorry, my mistake. I just thought that you didn't see the point of paying for something that you didn't need, and was of no real value to you, since you already had a safety (certification) done recently. When I quoted what I did, you were attacking me for not wanting to pay for something that I didn't need and was of no value to me, since I already have trails that are not maintained by the snowmobile club. Completely different. My bad, sorry for bringing it to your attention.

In 2003 when I moved a transferred a truck to my parents in Manitoba from Alberta, I sent in the recent safety from Alberta and they accepted it in Manitoba. Sometimes is just easier to ask.

I reside in Manitoba. I had a 1992 Ford F250 XLT Lariat Diesel that was in really good condition - body and mechanicals. I ordered this truck brand new. I had it inspected/safety (and it passed) by the Ford dealer who sold it to me.
If I would have tried to sell it in Kenora, Ontario I would have had to have it reinspected/safety as Ontario doesn't recognize Manitoba safety inspections.
Why????

I think the obvious answer to this recurring question is the fact that the records are kept by separate governments. They do not have the ability to follow up on any future issues and therefor would be signing off blindly. There may be differences in the safety criteria as well. Just as MPI can give you the accident history of a Manitoba vehicle but has no ability to access the records kept elsewhere. Provincial borders create provincial departments. If it was regulated federally then it would be different.

given the cost of that farce of a gun registry, I think that it's probably better to just leave the system as it is. Anything that the provinces can mess up seems minor compared to what the feds are capable of if they get involved and that's the only way that we'd ever get acceptance of safety certs across provincial borders.
JoeCool

very true and was exactly what i was thinking as i typed it. occaisionally the borders create a hassle but generally it allows more local control over local issues.

This might be a little off topic, and lends itself well to the conspiracy theorists, but am I the only one who has noticed that since our guns have been taken away gas prices have skyrocketed?

there you guys go again with your scary bedtime stories...now I'm a 100% on the fact the gun laws in this country are retarded and one of the biggest Liberal flops and wastes of money in the history of this country....but tying that to gas prices is a little out there. LOL
We all know that gas prices are to do with aliens anyway....right?.....right?
