There has been talk of us Iowa nitwits getting together for various groups rides so I thought I would post a couple rides that are coming up around Iowa.

Toys for Tots will have a “Ride for a Cause” on June 14 to collect donations.

The motorcycle ride will make various stops to collect donations and all forms of transportation can participate. The cost to participate is one new, unwrapped toy.

People are asked to gather for the ride at 11:30 a.m. at Truck Specialties, east of the Mason City Municipal Airport. The ride will depart at noon and make stops at Mason City Honda, Rock Falls Lounge, Jake’s Place in Plymouth, Thirsty Dog Saloon in Manly, Kim’s in Ventura and The Other Place in Clear Lake.

At the end, the “Fun Run” will return to Truck Specialties for a grill-out and raffles. Only those who complete all the stops can enter the raffle.

For more information or to pre-register, interested persons should contact Ken Kraus at 515-231-5384 or Noah Reed at 641-231-2700.

Wish Ride--Mason City
Annual motorcycle ride to raise funds for wishes. This event will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at LD's Filling Station in Mason City, Iowa. The Whitesidewalls will be providing the entertainment. For more information, please contact Matt Dodge at (641)421-1192.

I'm planning on attending these two rides since they are both close to home and both for good causes. Also, there is a "Bike Night" every wednesday at the OP in Clear Lake. Gives the wife and I something to do during the week I guess.

Any others that you know of this summer? Post 'em and we can terrorize the entire state this summer!

We don't own a bike but I would love to meet up at LD's to hear the Whitesides Walls! I love them, growing up in that area, I went to many of their events.

I'm booked both dates Dave. I'm sure we can make something work.

Question- How many Iowa guys/gals own motorcycles?

Winterwarrior, Drake, MattK, 95XCR600, Drive, Who else?

You guys put a HCS group ride together. I will do my best to make it. During the week works for me or Sunday afternoon.
Let's figure out who has bikes and where they live and go from there. Does some place have a "bike night" we could meet at?
I would like to be home by dark for sure.

The Other Place in Clear Lake has Bike Night on Wednesdays - $1.00 brats and burgers

The Rose Bowl in Mason City has Bike Night on Thursdays - Live music last week, but they SUCKED BIG TIME!
My boss roasted the rear tire off his Harley during a burn out contest... got $50.00... worth it? NOT!

That's the ones I know about around here.

I took a 160 mile jaunt from PDC down to Dubuque and back. Very scenic along the mighty Mississippi. I'll try to post pics asap.

I would have had more miles, but I've been out of town since last friday while the bike sits in the garage. Oh well, I'll get it back on Sunday evening. Plan on putting a few miles on it on Monday. I miss my bike!

Anyone for a ride around the Black hills. Great scenery, I know some great rides and special places out there. I am headed out there July 15. I don't care for Sturgis week as the prices triple and everywhere is crowded.

I would love to ride the Hills with you Lonnie! It's awesome out there! Just not sure if I can swing it this summer.

Black hills are 1 of 2 places Id like to take a bike ride, the other is the U.P, around lake superior, would hafta be awesome in the sumer,, that area gives me a sleding boner, on a bike has to be close to that.

I'd like to take a trip to the Black Hills... summer or winter. Don't know if it will happen on the bike I have now, but I could see myself doing it sometime in the future. The way gas prices are, I don't think I'll be dragging the sled that far from home anytime soon.

Anyway, who thinks they might attend the Make-a-wish Ride this coming up Saturday in Mason City at LDs Filling Station?
