Anyone know where I can get a clutch puller to remove the primary clutch on a 97 zrt 600? I think the clutch is factory and the bolt is a 14mm but I'm having trouble locating one that will be correct.
Thanks.

The factory ZRT600 clutch in 1997 used a 1/2-20 fine threaded bolt to retain it on the crank. You needed a 12 point 1/2" socket to remove that bolt. Don't know where you got the 14mm figure, maybre wrong bolt or different clutch. Show a picture of the clutch and retaining bolt.

That's the one I got off. Now I just need the one that goes thru the clutch to pull it off. I found one at denniskirk.com I think I'll order it. Only problem is it says it works on 8 bolt clutches I have a 10 bolt clutch. I wonder if it is the same.

1. Find a 1/2-20 bolt (a fine threaded 1/2" diameter bolt, NOT 1/2" wrench size) (ACE Hardware)
2. Tip your sled up on its right side so clutch is facing up
3. Put some engine oil in the clutch hole that goes to the crank (where you pulled the 14mm bolt out of)
4. Tighten the bolt down quickly, and be ready to use a wrench and cheater bar (I wedged a wrench in the posts/spider to keep it from turning
5. If 4. doesn't work, or you're lazy, repeat 1. through 3, except grab an impact wrench for step 4., it'll come out every time, just be careful that you're not directly above the clutch when it pops off, it doesn't pop high, but it has power and the impact wrench could play a little chin music.
This works better, I have a clutch puller, and I usually need to resort to oil and the impact wrench. Works great, makes a mess... Just clean everything up with your favorite cleaner when your done-gar, alcohol, brake cleaner, etc...
