Ok so the big public push is on to bring in your old beer fridge 10 years old or older to help the environment and save electricity. I'm all for doing my part when i can but geeze I need a bit of a kickback don't you agree? My fridge and I have become very close friends over the years, he has never let me down and I always feel better after seeing him at the end of the day. Hes never once complained about the long sweaty days in summer nor has he bitched about the wine coolers dumped in him when company is over. Now the greenies expect me to send him to the crusher? Hows this Mr Suzuki, how about for every old beer fridge brought in, one corporate office in the big skyscrapers turns the lights out at 10pm? or hows about for every 1000 fridges , Greenpeace pulls one pain in the ass freighter ship out of the ocean and scraps it and donates the cash to bio fuel research??
So till i see a bit of compensation my buddy Kelvinator stays right where he is and sucks the electricity daily. I don't bail on a friend that easy, boys.

I think that they should take one of those old fridges, I mean one of the real oldies - the kind with the automotive-type chrome locking handles that are impossible to open from the inside. You know the ones, real classics that seem to run forever and chill your beer just right. Anyways find one of those babies, stuff David Suzuki's self-righteous ass in it, slam the door and dump it in a swamp somewhere. That act in itself might solve the global warming issue by curbing the unbelievable amount of hot air expelled by that jack-off. Seriously, that man really gets under my skin.

How about they donate the money to a farmer and tell him to stop selling his corn to the oil companies. That stuff should be in people tummies, not their gas tanks. Or donate the money to the land fills so they can clean up the mercury contamination cause by all the compact fluorescents being thrown out in the trash.
All they ever do is move the problem from one area to another. Use a stupid light bulb so we conserve energy and reduce green house gases. That’s great, but where will I get my water from in the future? It will get even worse when these fancy electric cars start showing up at the wreckers by the dozens. You think they are going to spend their hard earned $$$ to recycle all those batteries properly? Yah right, they’ll just sit in the yard to rot causing god knows what problem. I hope they are thinking about some of this shit before they produce them by the millions. No time now, truck plants closed! Here they come...

Believe it or not, I have moved it twice, and both times by myself. Sled dollies work great. 1 in each corner, and I was able to move it pretty easily. This is a 10 year old Sub Zero that I have had for 5 years. Got it for free, and they are the best.

I have awakened from pleasant slumber with my arms wrapped around "old trusty" more times
than I have with my wife. Hell, I got my beer fridge on rollers just in case the house starts on fire.
Ya got to have priorities on a sinking ship.

Corona Light you say? Got 4 cases from a buddy who is a driver for $10 a case. That's about as good a beer for that price as you will find.

I wonder what consumes more energy in its lifespan, including the energy to produce and dispose of it as well as operate?
A- The modern fridge that has a lifespan of 10 years.
B- The old properly built to last fridge that has a lifespan of 40 years.
I would venture to guess that the manufacture and disposal energy spent on the new fridge when added to the energy burned to operate x's 4 dwarfs that of the older models.
These campaings to dispose of your old items and purchase new ones seem to be driven by the comanies that manufacture and sell you the very same.

The family cottage beer friend, er, fridge is 45 years old at least. I would trust it with my life. Suzuki and the greenies can pound salt. My home basement one is about the same vintage- an "Eatons" special. Found it on the side of the road. I felt sorry for it. Oh, oh almost time to go make sure it works again.
Sure they use hydro, so does an electric car. The guy in the ad with Suzie needs to get some friends and hobbies rather than pounding back the ales by himself. I'm sure Dr. Dave doesn't hoist them with him.

Yup,way too many cool stickers on the ol' girl to throw it out eh? Thing is,it's in my non-heated garage,so for a good 4 months the compressor ain't even running more that 1 hour a day! Use it to keep brews from freezing.

The new white unit beside it is the upright freezer,high-efficiency thing. The NASCAR stuff on it are all magnets. (or the wife would cut'em off!
