I will be spending a long weekend in Jackman this August and was thinking about towing up the Wrangler.
What type of trails are available to use?
I will have my kids along, so not looking for anything too hard core.
Would it be worth towing it the 3.5 hours?

Thank you in advance for any responses

I don't really know about the trails in Jackman but I wouldn't think you'd find much that you can't find at home. I would save the gas money it would require to trailer. But then again, if you don't care about the extra gas to trailer I'd say toss her on and that way when you get there you won't be let down. There's alot of land to explore up there, that's for sure. Just my 2 cents.
what?trail?
silly question.... can you operate and unregistered vehicle off-road in Maine? Only asking because i often think about leaving an off-road only jeep at camp but seems it should still be registered?

Talk to Scott at Sprucemeadow. He has a sick jeep that he rips all over the place with.

I have an old forerunner I keep up there. The sky is the limit for places to go up there, pack a lunch, a few beers, fishing poles and a delorme map and head out.Plus it beats scratching up my truck.

Can you drive to Coburn Mtn., over to Pittston, Rockwood etc.?
Whate is a Delorme map?
I do have a GPS with topo on it (shows most logging roads)
Can you drive down any non active logging road/ITS trail? or are they gated?

Delorme is a company out of Yarmouth, Maine that makes really good maps.

Most ITS trails are just logging roads. YOu can drive anything that isn't gated. Some trails around the clubhouse, club trails, etc you can't drive on, but basically you just ride around on the log roads all day. You can get pretty much anywhere you can on a sled, beside the real off trail, border shit.

A few weekends ago I saw a group of about five jeeps heading out for some trail riding. I think you will find plenty of trail riding for the whole family to enjoy.

Oh and there is still snow in the woods!!
