Letter to the Editor: Please Return Our Stolen Sign
To the Editor:
At the beginning of this spring, The Drift Dusters Snowmobile Club began removing all of the stakes and signs from the snowmobile trails. To our dismay, we found that one of our junction signs located just off of the top of Quarry Road in Derby was stolen. The sign is made up of a nine foot tall pole with 6-inch by 24-inch blue and green reflective signs hanging from it. The signs direct snowmobilers to the local businesses that sponsor our sign program as well as other towns and areas of interest. It would be nice to have the sign returned because it is expensive and as you may or may not know, our club does not have the money to replace a sign that someone just had to hang up in their room. Hopefully if someone "finds" it they will drop it off beside Walt's Sales and Service in Derby and we will be able to use it again to direct the thousands of snowmobilers that support and visit this area each year.
