Looking to add the EPI Clutch kit part #2876035 FOR 07-08 POLARIS IQ models. How hard is it to put together. I know you need the polaris clutch tool. HAs anyone put this thing on. WHat does it do for performance, gas mileage and belt life? Also want to add slp pipe and can combo for the sled. I heard slp doesn't do much unless you are 5000ft above sea level. This True? I am not looking to go 110 but would love to get to 95-100mph Quick! Also going to look into the Air box horn? Any thoughts will help, thanks.

No one has this kit? I never here anyone put the kit in. Sounds like everyone does there own thing. Is it not worth going with the kit?

I have sold some aaen pipes this winter. on the dragons it was just add 2 grams, drop in the pipe and silencer and you were running. no need for a spendy helix kit.

the torsion spring kit for the team clutch from aaen is a huge gainer as well. makes changing belts easier. few more mph up top and few sled lengths gained in drags.

Have you bought the kit or are you looking to buy. I have a Polaris (Erlandson) clutch kit P/N P2875866 that I bought for an '06 600. Not new but like new, hardly used. Don't know if they changed anything for '07/'08 or not. If you are interested, I could tell you the exact numbers on the springs, weights, and helix, maybe you could use some or all of the parts. Would sell some or all for way less than you could buy new. I had a mechanic do the installation for me and it didn't cost much.

I have not bought anything yet. How did you like the kit for the 06 600. Could you notice a change.I am looking for acc. over top end speed. Im sure the weights will work, but the EPI kit I was looking at is just for 07-08.

Does the reverse still work with this? What sled did you put it on? Learn something new every day.

As far as "clutch kits" go, IMHO, you can get very close to the same results on your own, much cheaper. Ther are lots of these topics with quality input from guys that know and share the info, just search or ask again. Also, some sleds really don't need alot, or leave alot of room for improvement, while others (like the 800 twins) are so bad stock it is foolish not to improve it some. The 600's IMHO come set up fairly well, on our 2003 XC 600, I dropped the mains 2 sizes and went up 2 grams on the weights, and it is very impressive, but it was not too bad stock either.

I have exactly what you are talking about on my 07' Dragon...
SLP pipe and can/ EPI performance clutch kit. They didn't make a trail version at the time.
Looking back I probably would have just went with the clutch kit and a MBRP can. I like loud cans and the SLP doesn't add a ton of noise. The pipe was a waste of money for the performance I got out of it. Get some type of can regardless though at least for the 8 lbs you'll shave. The clutch kit is OK. It is a ripper out of the box so if I were to do it again I probably would have just went with the can and called it good.

Sorry so slow to reply. The kit didn't work well in my '06. Think the bottom line was that the '06 production sleds didn't put out as much horsepower as the prototype sleds that were used to develop the kit. I think the kit would work in an '07-'08 though. If someone knows the part numbers that are in the '07-'08 kits I could check them against my kit. I did call Erlandson when the '07s came out but they would not tell me what part numbers made up the kit.
As I said, the parts are virtually new and I'd sell them at a heck of a good price.

THanks for your advice. So you dont think the Pipe adds anything to the performance?

Hmmmmm. Most Dragons could handle (not all) 2 grams with the stock pipe and stock silencer, no need for a spendy set of Aaen pipes.

I would like to think that "a few sled lengths gained in drags" (which is huge) is just a little optimistic for a "torsion spring kit".

I have tried just about every available mod out there for my 07 Dragon and feel I have a pretty good idea of works and what doesn't work out there on my sled and have yet to find a "silver bullet" (as you allude to) mod for my sled. Don't mislead the masses on here regarding performance mods, LOL, if it doesn't work exactly as you promise they will tar and feather you.

LOl Looking forward to your future posts on this site.

You sound like you know a little bit about mods/performance, what have you done to your 07 dragon? What have you seen in gains and loss (other then $$$)
