I'm not the biggest REV fan - Loved the IQ chassis with Walkers on the corners! I would buy another 700 dragon in a minute! Mine took a bit to dial in but once dialed in I think it was one of the best sleds I've ever owned!
Good luck with your decision...

Thanks for the input... so you hav ehad no problems with power after 85mph or plowing belts fouling plugs? (on some other sites some guys are complaining about this stuff) I will say the dragon is a better looking sled

I've never fouled a plug, except when cleaning the motor out after being fogged for storage. I replaced the original belt because it getting old, not because it looks worn out. It also gets pretty good fuel mileage - average 13-15mpg (US), even running fast. Now, the not so good - its very quick to 80 mph, but is no better than a consistant low to mid 90's on the lake. Some sleds do better - Canadians primarily seem to have greater percentages of better running sleds. Maybe its conditions, maybe its fuel, maybe its rider weight or chassis setup. Nobody seems to have found a "common denominator" that makes the faster sleds fast.

X's2 on what Orville said, except my sled consistently ran high 90's low 100's on the speedo. Condition and amount of snow definately effected performance. I never blew a belt or fouled a plug either, but I also let my sled warm up to the mid 60s - low 70deg range before I tried to move it.
I would buy another without blinking...
Good luck

Don't have one but know guys who have both, the only toubles I have heard of on the Dragon is the shocks needing to be revalved. The Doo, I know a few guys who have put new engines in. My brother just finished putting a new engine in a 07 800 doo with 3200 kilometers on it. Just my 2 cents.

3500 Miles on my 07 only fouled one plug before reflash. Best stock suspended "trail" set-up Ive ridden and even better than my old REVS with $2000.00 C-36 Shocks custom built for me. Still on stock belt, runs consistantly at 103 top speed box stock. Great on oil okay on gas 12mpg. Shocks can be dialed in from one extreme to the other in minutes with the needle clickers for "trail" junk but big air or daily pounding its not made for stock thats when I pull out my IQ Racer. Only downsides I have to say is the 07 had a smaller gas tank than the 600cfi and 08+ models leaving me the first out of gas every long ride, and two broken primarys springs under warranty, my families 600CFI sleds are just as fast. I ordered up a 09 Dragon 600SP I liked mine so much, I was gonna go with a 08 last year until I found the Walkers where not on it, now they are back for 09 so I ordered one. I'll keep my 07 for the wife to ride the next few seasons. Also the Walker needles work great but need to be properly maintaned to stay together, at least every 1000-1500 miles(for a average rider) they need to be serviced with new oil or your start loosing that great ride.

good to hear that it gets around 12mpg read a review that said 8 to 9mpg(about 80-90 miles on a tank) i NEED at least 100 miles per tank. And i rebuild my shocks every year 1200-2000 miles (depending on snow fall)

I would agree with pretty much all of the other responses so far.
You really can't go wrong buying a good used 07 Dragon as they are a great all around sled.
One of the best looking sleds of the last 5 years and resale value should be solid in the future.
Performance is good for a 700 but don't expect an over-achiever. Mine will run high 90's in almost all conditions and will c-r-e-e-p up to the mid 100's under very good conditions.
Have never fouled a plug, never blew a belt and have never had to walk home with this sled.
Again, just an excellent all around performer.

1000 miles and I love mine. I am getting 12-15 depending on the conditions. All the updates are done and I was able to get to 100 quickly and then she slowly went to 108. It does like to suck oil though. I have never blown a belt or fouled a plug. Starts on the second pull cold almost every time. Great trail sled. You can soften it up or make her hard. I am very happy with mine.
Make sure the updates are completed. Mine leaked oil from the chaincase from day one until the update was done with the bracket. I think the mileage reflash made it wake up a little, but mine was done very early after I bought it.
I think you would like the IQ better.

I have ridden some Revs but not much but the chasis are similar. I do feel my 700 handles better even though the steering is heavier than the Rev. I can not compare speed because I rode smaller dosplacement Revs. The Walker Evans are very good shocks but need to be rebuilt to often. There is no comparison in hammering the big stuff the IQ chasis out shines the Rev here. The new F chasis handles bumps extremely well but the weight will kill you after a while. I have 1400 miles on mine and the Walkers needed to be done about 500 miles ago.
The fuel milage is between 12-13 pretty consistently and it is very quick to at least 95-100. I only fouled 3 plugs before reflash. Conditions will affect this sled top end performance a lot! I have seen only 95 on packed snow but I have seen 109 on ice with 2 inches of fluff on top. Good conditions will produce good top speed.

2200 miles here.....
A few fouled plugs, ppffffttttttt. Big deal.......
Rock solid!
When the sled is cold, Below 10 degrees it can be a MOTHER to pull over.
Electric start would be a priority here as well as a quickened warm up time. Supposedly the Parralell coolant system upgrade will take care of that....
In the rough, They are hard to beat.....
And that comes from a guy who spanked the vaunted Rev XP8 so many times his ass is still bleeding.
Don't believe all the BS about the XP, The IQ chassis IS SUPERIOR!

My 07 dragon 700 with 2800 miles was the best handling & riding sled, far, far, far better then my Wife's 07 600 SDI Ski-doo Renegade!!!
The engine was very strong when running correctly, 109 MPH!!!
Most likely had the typical poor stator plate, engine loose power after 40 miles, then the 90 MPH wall, that many 600, 700 & 800 Poo's had.
The 09's & replacement stator plates are much improved.
The D7 engine's lower crankcase & crankshaft were designed to be up graded to a 800.
If you use good oil such as Red-Line the engine should go easily 5000+ miles, then replace pistons just to be safe.

Heh, yeah got lucky on the design compitition... But paid more than $600. To uncle sam it's value is considered an income, so it goes as part of your income. In other words I had to pay income tax on $9600 (msrp) which is about 25% ($2500 ish) plus sales tax ($600 ish). About $3k in all, still a cheap sled.

Sounds like your mind is made up. My dragon was the most fun/versatile sled I've ever ridden, until I bought my 600rr. I've never had a single problem with it and it's a complete ripper. My wife rides it mostly now and I strap on the RR. People who say the RR can't be trail ridden probably haven't rode one. Anyway, that's off topic. You'll love your dragon. Mine has some goodies on it that you can take a look at on SF.com. I'm new here and haven't uploaded any pics yet but I will soon.

Seems like everyone I buy is junk. Like the sled. 1st season couldn't throw enough weight to the primary. Running dead even on top with 05 ZR 900 sno pro. With SLP pipe. Then I lost 500 rpm. Lightened the weight back to SLP specs, still down 300@ 8000. Should be 8300. Took it to 3 different dealers in the last year and a half, knowing a sensor must be bad. Nothing. Well finally pulled the y pipe off, I have blow by half way down both pistions. Sled has 1900 miles on it. Power loss started @800 miles. WTF. Off course last day of last ride this season oil tank took a shit.
Snow checked this sled with I THOUGHT a 4 year bumper to bumper warrantee!

Yes my 07 D7 pistons looked good, very little blow-by, but I broke it in hard, unlike you some of you easy riders???
Compression new 125 psi on each cylinder, 125 psi on each cylinder after 2800 miles, same gage.
However late last winter the EXCELLENT engine would loose power after approx 35 miles, most likely the typical bad stator plate, they were on back order late last winter.
On the plus side very quick, very strong, responsive engine at 8300 rpm only after installing SLP pipe, can, flow-rites, left & right belly pan vents, SLP torque stop, SLP clutch kit. Very pleased with the performance only after the above SLP upgrades. But then after approx 2 weeks the Stator plate, CFI senor or what ever started to act up, dropped power usually after 35 miles.
My X 07 D7 was BEST HANDLING, RIDING SLED ON THE MARKET!!!

Best handleing sled I have ever owned. A relatively quick sled. It is a really good field racer when set up properly. Even with a poor showing on the dyno it was still an impressive performer. But for every action there is a reaction........
I just tore my motor down for a complete inspection and blue printing.
Good compression, minimum blow by,
But the outer pto bearing has wallowed and chattered in the cases. Mag side did the hokey pokey a bit also.
Crank is out .003. (easily repaired by a reputable shop)
Clutch is out getting balanced as we speak.
I have new cases on order, along with the bearing upgrade (08 800 pto bearing).
Also have ordered the Rmk single ring pistons.
Hopefully no one needs a crank from Polaris as they are on back order, as of now they are thinking mid November for delivery.
Oh did I mention it has 489 miles on it?
Of which 300 of them were about 800ft at a time at full throttle.
Had a good season last year, hoping for an even better showing this year.
