HOOKSETT – A 35-year-old man from Bow died last night after his motorcycle crossed the double yellow line and crashed into an oncoming car on Hackett Hill Road, according to police

It's not known why Jameson Thissel of Bow veered out of his lane around 5:55 p.m. last night. The Kawasaki motorcycle he was riding hit an oncoming Toyota Camry and Thissel was pinned underneath the car. Emergency crews worked to free Thissel and resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Toyota was driven by Peter Cooke of Hooksett. Cooke's son, a juvenile, was a passenger. Neither was hurt in the accident, although their car had significant front-end damage.

Thissel was traveling north when the accident happened. The terrain was up hill and heading around a curve.

"It's a hilly, country road and people tend to drive too fast," said Ray Crane, who lives at 216 Hackett Hill Road, right near the accident scene. "We all think we're better drivers than we actually are."

Hooksett police Sgt Kristofer Dupuis said he has no reason to believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. He said state law requires those involved in a major motor vehicle accident to undergo blood tests and the Cookes were at the hospital doing that last night.

No charges have been filed and Dupuis said he's unsure if any will be. He said police are seeking any witnesses to the accident. Dupuis said the roads were wet and investigators will be unable to determine whether speed was a factor.

Thissel was wearing a helmet, which lay on the ground at the accident scene last night.

Hackett Hill Road was closed for several hours last night between Goffstown Road and Corriveau Drive while police cleared the scene and conducted their investigation. State police were assisting Hooksett Police with the accident scene.

Jamey Was a cool cat. Not only was he a customer but a friend as well. To explain what type of guy he was I crushed my thumb in a loader accident. After the basic reassembly of it he stopped by to take a look .This was after he "heard it" in the emergency room that someone he knew had a accident. When he found out it was me he showed up after pulling a long shift to offer an opinion He even offered to talk to a surgeon to see if that surgeon could look at my thumb for little or no charge as a favor to him(Jamey). That was the type of guy he was. My shop and myself as well will miss him. RIDE ON JAMEY. there is plenty of snow where you are and there is also great Motorcycle riding as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family W.H. bye.gif
