I know I could mod my stock pipe, but a lot of people say you can lose up to 10 horse with the motor by doing that. That will put me down to just a little more than my 440 had=no fun. Anyways, since im installing the 600HO, is this the same motor that came from the factory in the 600RR. If so, than could I just order the SLP 600RR pipe+can setup and call it good. This would ensure me that im making a few more ponies than the 600HO had potential for in stock form. The SLP package is about 500$-seems like a decent price.

Also, which Y-pipe am i going to want to run if I use the 440 pipe mod, or the 600RR setup either stock or SLP or other aftermarket.

You will want to use the 600HO Y-Pipe, P/N 1261358-029, the 440 Y-Pipe will hurt performance for sure.

I didn't think the SLP pipe for the RR was available. Last anyone checked, February I'm guessing, SLP had decided not to build it because of low demand. It's been on their website for sale since November '07 but was never really available. You may want to call them and specifically ask if that pipe is available.

Another option is the '08 600R pipe and SnowStuff can. Check out Powderhounds Sled. One of the cleaner conversions out there. Almost a step by step guide to a 600HO transplant.

There are several other pipes available for you conversion as well as modifying the 440 pipe. Depends on how much money you have. Here is one thread discussing pipes for the 600HO IQr.

Hope this helps.

Whats the best pipe to use for the HO, that i will still be able to use on a 660 if i do that in the next year or two. Or is that too much to ask for?

No, thats not too much to ask for.
For example, Carl's Cycle uses the same SLP pipe for both the 600H.O and for their 660-kit in the non IQr-s.
Dynoport also uses the same pipe for those 2.
Neils i don't know but i guess if he uses different pipes it shouldn't be much that differes them and if you go with him just check first what he recommends.
I am using the stock 600H.O pipe for a 660-engine and it works nice, probably lost some ponies not going with a pipe but just not wanting it to sound too much..
Hope this helps some..

Neil's pipe works for the 600, 660, and 685. There are different chokes used for each size motor, but the pipe is the same.

Does it look just like the one on Powderhounds sled? Have you already designed something to hold the can off the tub? Can you name a price or price range here or do you need a PM?

I payed 150 for the y-pipe and 350 for the pipe and 110 for the canister. I know i wont get it all back, i did have a braket for the can to mount to the tub. I sold the bracket to a friend for his conversion. For price im open to offer's. Oh and yes its the same setup as powderhound. Also the pipe braket is included. James
