I know there are many trails up in Bingham area for ATVs. I would actually be starting from down by North Anson. Does anyone know what they are like? Am I able to take myself and my son on his smaller 90cc ATV on these trails?

Just figured I would ask if anyone had any experience with this.

Thanks

Most trails up that way will be closed until Memorial week end. Right now it is still mud season there. www.atvmaine.org is the ATV Maine web site. You should be able to get more info there. It also has a list of affiliated clubs.

Ive run that a few times. As Bob said closed still now...but...Anson though N. Anson...not sure...
ITS84 is great No Anson thru Embden over 201A and over the dam in Solon. From there 87 to Bingham is a bit mogully...sometimes alot mogully....but good ;-) When you get to 201 in Bingham at the Gas Stations it is sketchy. The log yard has it posted.
I know at one time there was an alternate (local and unmarked) route and we hit DEEP mud out in the woods somewhere between the log yard and the school so I wouldnt recommend that. Once past Bingham we ran up into Moscow with little trouble and decent trails....getting thru Bingham can be a problem though. You could run up 201N a mile or so but Im unsure where to hook back up with a trail.
Unfortunatly some have abused the privilage and every year someone new shuts down and few new allows access...so we need to figure it out in a few weeks again. I know you ride alot so no need to rant about what not to do.
Its a blast. More access would rock but I understand land owners not wanting to have some ATVers on their property. I know the ATV clubs are helping to mediate issues alot more so thats great. If you ride that area much we should both find out the club and join.
I probably run it a half dozen times a year so it would be worth it to me.
I wish I could at least easily get to Maplewood Rest. for dinner or Thompsons for breakfast but the 201 crossing is an obstacle last time I went up. I have run 201N without being bothered...just ran it slow on the edge.
I will be glad to contact you if I get any current info...do the same.
