A friend has a 97 XLT SKS that occasionally fouls plugs and will not start. I've heard that leaking needle/seats are a problem on the XLT's , and switching to viton tipped needles will help.
I see on the Polarisindustries web site that it should use part # 3131146. However, I've lying some (new in plastic) 1.5mm valves, p/n 3130643 in the parts pile.
Anyone know if these can be used instead? http://parts.polarisind.com/OtherAssemblie...?partid=3130643 lists other sleds where the 3130643 are being used.

How about pinched vent hoses, I've heard they could in some cases flood the engine...?

The 3130643 needle valves will only work in aluminum bodied carbs. If the '97 XLT SKS has 38 mm carbs, they are aluminum and the 3130643 valves will work. If the '97 XLT SKS has 34mm carbs, which I believe it does, they are zinc and the 3130643 valves will not work.

Thanks,
were not aware of the difference in materials in 34 / 38mm carbs.
