I have some possibly bad news for you. The charts i have list all the cdi units from 97 xcr 440 up to 98 xc 700 including the 600 xc and rmk's both 600 and 700, and that part number isn't any of them. The number for a 98 xc 700 is 4060181. I typed the part number you gave into the polaris microfiche advanced search and it comes up as a 99 xc 500 cdi. I personally don't have any info on any 500 cdi's, but that's just what i found on the microfiche. I know the part numbers i have are correct, and that isn't the one for a 98 xc 700. Sorry.

Boy Iq, you're slacking. I would think you'd have all the factory charts for the 98/99 cdi's like i do, being the EXPERT tuner/racer you proclaim to be. Especially being the expert you are on all 98 xc's. I just had to look at my factory notes. I guess only the REAL pro racers get those.(LOL) stirthepot.gif

sorry fast xc, i don't dry hump my sleds all summer like you do and memorize part numbers. I dont' turn wrenches either. I pay people to do that. I'm busy making money.....your yearly salary in one month most likely.

Take it deep.
Zrxpilot
Ive got airboxes with cdi's for a 98 700, 2000 700 and a 98 440. They all say 7077026 on the decal, gotta look close for the number.

98 700 - 3238800097 35 and 4060181-1
00 700 - 3238803099 03 and 4060227 1
98 440 - 32388400 97 41 and 4060190

You're a comedian too? You're pretty funny. You should go out on tour with your act. I PRAY you come to my neck of the woods someday. You'll get a RUDE awakening. I'll be laughing when 12 year old kids lay the smack down on your "120 mph" sled. I'd make sure to get it on tape to show everyone on here how fast you really aren't. roflmao.gif

I don't belive thats an actual polaris part number. usually they are a 7 digit or 10 digit number.

Here. Check this out.Your cdi part numberClick on the link, then look up "magneto" on the left side of the page. Click on that, and look at number 9. There are 4 of them with your part number being one of them. I don't think you're going to get a solid answer from anyone here unless you start a new topic looking specifically for someone with a 99 500 xc sp that can look at their cdi and verify the part number for you. I don't know of ANYONE that used that cdi part number on a 600 or 700, so you aren't going to get many responses on this post from guys with actual "experience" with that particular cdi. The other thing you could do is put it on, and with a timing light check the actual timing at specified rpm ranges to see where it's at. I could take a picture of the timing curves that i have and post them here if you want, but that would be a major pain for you to do. Like i said, i'm sorry to tell you, but i'm about 99% sure you got a 99 500 xc sp cdi.

You could get it reprogrammed if you want. I know pro 5 used to do it, and i believe Hot seat too.

Shitty ,,,I bought it as a xc 700 1998 cdi now I have a 98 600 cdi and a 99 500xc cdi.
Thanks for the link.

I can only say this from our experiece of using a 99 xc500 cdi on a 99 xc600...it doesn't work quite right...it change the idle speed and created a bunch of pinging...total power output seemed off also. I wouldn't try it. Just wonder though if the 600 cdi could be reprogramed to 700 specs.

I was able to reprogram my 99 xcsp600 cdi through the polaris race program for slightly more spark advance yet be fine on pump gas for trail riding....don't know about other models.

Hey jerknutz, if it's a ducati cdi box, it can be reprogrammed. You must've missed that at race school since YOU WEREN'T THERE! Please please please please please, just go back to your gay forums where you came from and leave the question answering to the pros. If any dudes have questions on the newest dildo technology, i'll be sure to send them your way.

Naw...squid600 isn't quite a moron...knows just barely enough to be dangerous....i'd classify him more as a legend ...a legend in his own mind. popc1.gif
