I had an 01 edgeX 600
I had an air horn, boost bottle and clutch kit.Weights and spring. That thing ripped it was fast on the trails it hung with everything.Awesome holeshots.
Try that you should stay under $200.

no..no..not like that....instead of the air going out and making alot of noise it goes in and makes more horsepower ,air intake. This is something you can order from Dennis Kirk or Hi-performance engineering or even on ebay. Also a pipe and can would be good depending how much you want to spend.

Forget the can. All of them are louder. A little weight loss is all. Many loose hp. Spend your money on clutching and jetting. Stock clutching is 10-60 weights, blue white 120-310 spring, r-11 helix 45-36 and silver blue sec spring. Run:
10-62 weights, almound blue primary spring 150-310, R-8 helix 50-34, and silver blue secondary spring. Leave gering at stock 23-39. Drop mains 2-3 sizes.

thanks guys all of you said clutch so i will def. get a clutch kit. i know this is a polaris forum but my old sled found the bottom of a ditch with my brother on it doing 60 and i fixed everything except for the fact that it starts beautifully but if you try to give it any throttle it (without delay or stutter) completely shuts off the engine any ideas?

SLP don't offer a single for the 600 small block as far as I know.

Correct. Only for the HO6 in the IQ chassis

There's not much left on the table as far as the motor goes other than jetting. Leave it stock or spend some coin on a 660 big bore.
You can make it more fun to drive by:
Adjusting the suspension. Learn to set it up to rail through corners on the trail or full wieght transfer for straight line racing.
Clutching will get you the most satisfaction for the dollar.
Aftermarket ski's make a huge improvement.
Riding for a bit and maybe putting a riser on it, handlebar hooks etc.
It's a good sled and with some tweaks you can leave the motor alone and be happy.

If it doesnt have a team roller secondary cluch on it i would look into one of those too.
