Saw a cool couple of videos on U-tube today. They were clips from a tv show call sledheads 24/7.They show and talk about the Z1 turbo. They also name it 4stroke trail rocket of the year. The sledhead tester says it's the fastest stock sled he had ever driven!I wish I could figure how to post a link here, maybe one of you techno guys could do it for us!It's worth checking out if you need a fix....I know I did! I don't understand these Sledheads giving out Sled of The Year awards for 2009 based on Prototypes. I think it's a little premature. Why don't we wait until the production models hit the snow and see what happens then? It really brings the credibility of these people into question! It is so hard to get good unbiased info these days!

Anytime you hear anyone say anything positive about Cat you always claim it's a biased opinion.

Plain & simple...you take the already awesome Z1 motor, twin spar chassis & add 50+ horsepower..... What do you have??? THE ULTIMATE 4-STROKE ROCKET!!!!

Those of us who own and have ridden the Z1 already knew we had the ultimate trail sled....not a real surprise that adding 50+ horsepower easily wins them over in this category!!!!

My comment was directed at Sledsheads. All four Companies had a sled of the year in one category or the other. It seems premature of Sledheads to have 2009 Sled of the Year ratings at this time. In my opinion, it diminishes their credibility no matter what kind of sled they are talking about.

All the magazines do that...nothing new here!!!

Anyone who cares about what any if them say is silly. Every magazine or TV show has different opinions just like every rider does.

I prefer to ride them myself if that option is there. Luckily I get to ride with all the new iron so therefore I pretty much get to try out anything I like. How can some bozo from a magazine or TV show no what sled fits or works best with me?? Plus it don't matter what brand you choose to ride, if you can't get dealer support and service....you're pretty much screwed anyway! Obviously the 4 sled manufacturers that are left know how to make awesome snowmobiles..... pick what you like best and where you can combine that with an awesome dealer......don't matter what brand you are on, you will be a happy camper!!!

I mostly agree with you but look at it from this point. Snowtrax does sled of the year at the end of the season based on their experience testing through out the season. So if you take that info and go to your dealer your only option is finding a left over or a used sled.

Awarding sled of the year on prototypes is simply their initial judgement and anticipation of how the sled will do once they re released. Everyone knows this and it makes sense even though its no secret that a SOY might be a complete turd come production.
