I'm thinking about uprading my TNT with fox float shocks.

What's the part number of the fox float I would need for a TNT and what length are they. Where do you suggest me to buy them to have a good price?

I'm also looking for some feedback about those shocks so anybody who've tried them, let me know if they work good! Let me know what you think of this project, I want to know the pros and the cons of doing it.

Thanks

i dont know the part number off the top of my head but i can get it for you. floats have there pros and cons like any shocks. here are some pros. fist floats a light, on ad trail sled not overly important. second they performacne pretty well and the spring PSI can be adjusted easily. they are also a strong shock that can take a prety good beating. cons, they are a way complex desgin, to many seals that can leak and rebuilds can get expensive (if i remember right there is a total of 22 seals per shock (most shocks have 7 or 9). second there are overpriced. you cna get a way better performing shocks for 700 bucks. and last they are hard to tune in becasue they ahve sucks a progessive spring rate.

floats i personally think is most cases are not the right shock. in mountain setups when ever pound is a big deal then yes they are the way to go but are nothing to get excited about. i would go with a reservoir coil over. they is a large amount if stuff you can get. really you way want to just add a reservoir to the shocks you have now. if are many people that can do that out there. my new revervoirs will be done here late summer (high speed low speed adjusters with probably the largest adjustibilty in the sled market) or there is hygear or shocktec. also if you want a different set of shocks i can help you get some or if you want floats i can set you the part number.

Thanks a lot for all the information! It's good to hear about the different possibilities I have. Do you know anybody who tried them on a XP?

not personally no. by the way i cown a company called AllPartsRacing (sorry site is down right now) also we will be HCS sponsors soon but anyway. most of the stuff i deal with is in the racing aspect. i do a ton of poo race stuff and some AC, doo, and yama race stuff to. i do lots os regular stuff on top of that to but probably 70% of my business is racing (shock and suspension stuff). on the xp the HGP shocks are pretty good stock shocks. the vavling is not that great but hgp shocks are pretty godo shocks. i hate rebuilding them because they are a pain but are long alsting good performers. id sy you best bet would be as reservios to what you got or try and find a pair of C36 clickers from a RS. also Walker Evans from a poo work great to (its very easy for me to get WE stuff becasue of all the poo stuff i do). and if oyu can find a ryde fx racing shocks that a good alternative to.

Hpg shocks when valved correctly with dual or trip rate springs will work well. They are not a high line shock likeothers i service and sell but are decent shocks. i find them wicked easy to set-up whereas a walker or float more of a pain,to each their own I guess!
fox floats work very well on the cats and yamaha chassis but on the rev i have found most riders do not love them. it seems to be a love it or hate it scenario. The guys who really like the floats seem to be the mountain guys,at least the ones i speak with. I have rode the floats and they performed well at slower speeds in the chop but at high speeds felt unstable and pitchy. dont get me wrong, the fox product line is quality stuff. i really like the podiums and zero-x line, they are a cost effective solution to most peoples needs. their atv piggyback cd adust shocks work very well! for a little more the price of the x version or better yet evols I can set you up with a dual or tripp rate piggyback or remote ressie shock, your choice. i offer compression and non-compression adjust. Check out my website and look in the ZBROZ section. list pricing is posted on their website but this time of year I have leverage on that pricing. ZBROZ shocks for those who dont know are made and engineered by the same guys who used to build for custom axis a couple years back. axis shocks, like elkas, are some of the most sought after shocks in the atv industry. thats where the real agressive testing of a shocks durability occurs.

nice website by the way. yes zbroz shocks are very very nice. mike is a insanely smart guy. he worked for fox for like 10 years then penke with the axis and now his own stuff. i myslef and in the process of trying to creat products to compete iwth them acutally in the sled and ATV market. it costing me a ton to get started though but that a whole nother topic. back to the one at hand. what you said about floats is correct. they can either be stiff and harsh or soft and unstable. the air spring is just far to progessive nad the volume is to small. air2 shocks are better but not as easy to adjust but im going to machine out like 200 of the air vavles because everyone wnat to but 4 on so imm ahve those this summer. as for really wnat to should do it all on how much you wnat to spend. going with a zbroz your at 850 min for a non adjustilbe and 1050 for an adjustible (this is including shipping and tax) 850 and 1050 are retail and if this guys cna get you anything lower it may not be bad to pay 850 for some shocks if you really want performance. that or to my clickers will be done mid summer with can be added to the your HPG you got for alot less. they are high speed low speed clickers what will have a much larger adjust range then even hygears hylo adjuster.

what cd adjusters are you using? the ones from race suspension products in ct? i add fox podium single stage cd asjusters and on the dyno and the trail they work very well. zbroz also has the "150" series. remote ressie non adjust with tripp rate for 750 lit. i have some good leverage on pricing through these guys and am the first NY sled shop for them. there is a place in southern ny that doeas ZBROZ but primarily atv stuff.

you know what works great is a cd asjuster on the hpg 17-17 3/8 clicler (monotube). those clickers are rebound adjust, not compression so adding a comp adjuster makes them a cool dual adjust shock. add some dual rate springs and they will work very well. you and I should shoot the sh&t sometime, shock therapy i guess

ya we should. we are going to shart a thread in the polairs section on it probably. we were talking about it in a thread for 3 pages and were just going to start ad new one. i love talking to people about it shocks stuff. as for the new HGP shock, ya its rebound adjust. im working on a rebound adjuster to. as for the adjsuter im using. is a race suspension products adjuster just for me, no one else. they will ahve a similar adjuster but mine will ahve actualy knobs you can grad and turn. is a 25mm adjuster, 5 hole instead of 4 like the 16 mm one and can process alot more oil.
