Hello fellow snowmobile fans. My first post over here, coming all the way from Iceland.

I was just wondering whether you guys had tucked in already? I'm not familiar with when American/Canadian snowmobilers stop riding.
Today is May 8th and I'm pretty confident that I still have a good month or so riding, without having to go to the glaciers. I only have to tow the sled for 10-30 minutes and then I'm on snow.

In Iceland the season usually starts in mid January, and sometimes we've made it until late June...Kinda strange season I guess, but it seems like winter has been "pushed back" by a month or two in latter years.

So it would be fun to hear if you guys are still burning oil and tearing belts ylsuper.gif

Surprised nobodies responded to this point to you. First - welcome to the states - if in fact you're in the states. Most of us packed in some time ago. The eastern part of the country - in most cases finish riding in April on a good year. Canada and the western part of the U.S. have snow well past April, I would suspect but by late May and June - it's all over but the crying. Good luck. What brings you over from Iceland?

I am from Northern Canada in the province of Nunavut, we still have about a month to go on our riding season as well. About two more months till the ocean thaws out so we still have alot of time left. Have fun over in Iceland. Welcome to the site.

A month to go? That puts you well in to June. That's my version of heaven. Of course I doubt my wife would like to see me with a 6 month season but I'd be in pure blise.

I'd like to thank you for the warm welcome. To prevent any misunderstanding, I'm located in Iceland, using the advantages of the internet to communicate with you guys smoke.gif
Over here, I'd say that the prime riding time was april/may. Daylight is sparse in Dec/Jan/Feb but from March onward days get longer, sunny hours increase and people really get in the mood.
I Just came from my "summer" cabin out in the country and I'm still able to ride there.

The pic below was taken a week ago to the day....enough white stuff left grgrin.gif

Thanx again for the warm welcome!
But yeah living up north certainly has it's benefits. Of course I am surrounded by mountains that are usually snowy until May/June but this winter has especially strange...it didnt really snow until mid-January so the season was somewhat delayed...not that I'm sad about it!

The Fusion is quite pleasant to me. Coming off an Edge-X 600 '01, I let the heavy steering get on my nerves at first, but I've gotten used to it now. I'm seriously thinking of buying Slydog Powderhound skis though, since I've read very positive things about them. I wonder how CA Pro ski's would perform on the Fusion???
