when I get to the state I want to load into the gps from mapsource I can not get it to highlight? what do I need to do?
I assume you are in city select or nav or topo software?
There is a icon on the top of the taskbar that looks like a 5 sided box, click on that and that changes your cursor, just like if you click on the magnifing glass to zoom. Click on each section you want to load and it changes to a pink highlite. The more you select the bigger the file and transfer time. Only load what you need. Each map section should show on the left side window with file size.
what size sd card are you using? I use a 2 gig but 1 is plenty of a newbie.
Like a stated eariler, I map dif maps for diff riding areas. Quebec south and east or a northern maine and NB or NY only...
I keep my sled maps seperate from atv or boat stuff.

Yes I'm only loading what I need got the ATV maps and they highlighted to the pink and loaded into gps but when I try to do the mapsource for part of the state I want it will not highlight? the cd I have is the 4.0 and I updated it. I do not see where there is any unlocking codes do I need to do that for it to work? as I never got any unlock codes with this cd for trips and waypoints manager?

Trips and Waypoint Manger will load your custom ATV maps but does not have any maps of its own to upload. You need City Navigator, Metroguide, US/Canda Topo etc. to load maps.

If you only have the basemap that came with the unit, there is nothing to download since that is already on the device.
