I have 07 I am ready to change my skis after 2 yrs of riding. I have 1.5 ripsaw 144. I would like to get the sled to rail or better. I have the limiter strap in the bottom hole to keep my skis on the ground and tighten the springs on the front skis. THis helped but the steering effort is hard. Really tough to keep up with a 05 rev renegade. I have made up my mind that I want the powderhound skis, but what would you recommend for bars or shapers. I am fine with buying after market bars or shapers. Also what should I do for setting back the limiter strap and front spring pressure or any other adjustments recommended. Any help will be great. Thanks

I've got the 6" shapers on mine, they work great, not a whole lot of darting on the trail and they're still easy to steer.

nice pic on the right side of your pmmracing, I should copy right our sleds. lol I run usi triple threats on my switchback and they work great with 9" shapers.

Slydogs are really nice skis. I ran mine about 2000+ miles this year. I did not get the powder hounds since we do not get that much snow out east here plus the extra 1" can get in the way getting around the tree boondocking. However, the only thing I noticed about my skis is they are super flexible. Great in the Pow, but sucks when things get crappy. They tend to bend up in the front when hitting water bars, etc.. IQ chasis rails with these ski buttrock.gif I probably should have spent the extra and got the race style skis same design just alot more beef to them!

I have about 6000 miles with 2 set of powderhounds. I ran the first set on my REV 440X and then put them on my 06 RMK with 7.5" shaper bars and loved them. My new 08 600 RMK has powderhounds with 9" shapers. You can probably get away with 7.5" easily. I ride in Michigan to wyoming and love them. Let me know if you need a price.

Yeah I would be interested in a price. I just would like to know what bar or shaper I should go with. Is the long bar/shaper better for me or shorter. 95% of riding is trail and I also water skip a bit. Maybe to race ski would be better. With a long track like 144 do I go with a straight bar or a shaper for them? I also would probably want a all red or white ski and loop. What about the suspension settings and shocks? any help will do

For trail riding you would probably be Ok with the 7.5 Shaper bars. If you really ride fast and hard may want the 9". I have a 144 and love the Powderhounds on and off trail. If you ride a lot of sharp rocks and pound the crap out of your skis you may consider race skis. They are 6" wide instead of 7" wide like the powderhounds. I ride hard in low snow conditions to deep snow and never had a problem with the Powderhounds.

What is the down side of having long bars, other then the cost?

May feel too aggressive and twitchy on hard pack. The slydogs to turn easy though.
