From what my buddies that have Xfires say....... Its good on the trails, but suck in powder.
They all went to 1.5" Intense tracks and LOVE them!

I think its a great on trail track but its absolute garbage in anything deep.

For 85% of the riders out there it is just fine for any condition. It is a very a good trail track. For super deep its not the best but I never had any problems with it.

I pretty much ride trails and I think it works great.
Wondering how the new 1.5" track on the 09's is going to perform though?

The Cobra is a much better track, but I rode plenty of powder this past season in the UP of MI and it did just fine. Trail riding is ok too. Unless you spend 90% + riding in powder over 2 feet, I'd try it out first and see how it compares to other tracks you've ridden.

Off trail no better than a 128" firecat with a 1.375 track.

I think its a good all around track and it works fine in the powder for me. Of course I ride the U.P of michigan so I'm usually not waist deep in the powder. If you ride out west I would get a 2inch track. 1.5 tracks are great all around my buddy put one on his f1000 with studs and boy does that thing hook up. I'd leave the ripsaw on and take off the coupler blocks which will give you more traction and help keep the front end up when riding off trail. Better for wheelies too.

Yup......in fact I found myself taking the Firecat off trail because it is lighter.
On trail the 1.375" Fircat track outperforms the 136" IMO.
Most likely will be going to a Cobra track next year.

yea i rode the ripsaw for the first 2000 miles.. and then bought an 1.5" intense for this year and have 2500 miles on it and also a trip to the mountain.. it performs very well... i find it even hooks up harder on the hard pack then the ripsaw did... after 2500 miles i think im missin only a lug or 2...

I respectfully DISAGREE.......My SP Firecat was descent in the powder, and the Xfire I rode with the 1.25" Ripsaw SUCKED!!!

Depending on how you ride will reflect on your opinion of the track choice. I love my ripsaw when trail riding. In the powder or out west, it is not the best choice. I put a 2" challenger on my X-Fire last year for out west and it worked great for out west. But on the trails back home it was not the best. I lost on top end by about 10-15 mph with the 2". But off trail it works awesome. It all depends on what your riding style is like.

Absolutley, The finger profile of the ripsaw doesn't hold snow and is terrible in soft stuff. Great Trail track but if you ride any amount of the deep stuff, start looking for a new track.

136 ripsaw is just about the worst track I've had terrible for hookup compaired to polaris shock wave.

I put the ripsaw on my ZR800 when I stretched and put 3500 miles on it. I also put one on my Tcat when I stretched it a couple years ago. The track's been great for me. I ride about 85% trails and the rest off trail in max of 5-6 feet of powder, in the U.P. I agree, if a guy is going to be in powder most of the time, he'd want a different track. For different types of trail conditions though, this is a great track. I would like to try the Ice Ripper once, or the Hacksaw with some studs some time.

I am actually thinking of putting a one inch on that thing and shit ton of studs now that I moved to minnesota and it looks like nothing but ditchbanging.
