How do you get to this point???? Whatever i guess......
Minnesota Flats
The last I heard, its legal IF the car is totally gutted. No engine, tranny, anything with fluids, etc. Seats out, etc. Pain in the butt. Also has to have a tether cable anchored on-shore.

They do it for fund raising at a local high school. A car gets put out on Fayal Pond in Eveleth and it's the thin ice contest.

No one cares up there. Do it anyway. How many F7's do you think sunk this winter? They sure didn't drain fluids on them. Fish need structure.

True enough I guess, and 'spose we could add to that ice fisherman cars and trucks that go thru the ice by accident. Oh, and yes, an occasional trail groomer.

The van I am referring to is a gutted one they put on the Ice and then do a fund raiser involving guessing the day and time it goes under. I was mainly interested because our cabin is ten miles away and was curious if the ice was off the lake yet. Sorry for the confusion.
Jackpine
What lake are you on? Most are open. Deep ones are still holding ice sheets.
rw513
Napoleon, pretty small lake, west of bigfork about 15 miles
Jackpine
I think it is east of Bigfork. Yes it is open. The larger deep lakes are almost open today.
rw513
East, yes, had a dyslexic moment. Are you from that area?

Ever heard of Jack Robb or Arthur Gibbs?

Jackpine
No, if they are locals I don't know many.

Yea they grow them big up here. Either that or the plumber had been drinking (more likely).
