well, i'm rebuilding this sled, tx440, and i got it all back together, and no spark, now i'm not real good with the electrical tester and have played around a bit testing for voltage while pulling the starter cord. i have voltage coming from the internal coils, ( how much i do not know but the digital read out pegs) and i tested for output on the two wire lead that goes form the CDI to the external coil, and there is something there but how much i do not know, it gives a reading, but does not peg like the internal coil. now when i disconnect the two wire lead from the CDI to the External coil, the white wire is to ground and the orange wire goes to the lug on the side of the coil and i assume that this is "power in" on the external coil. however when i set the meter to ring for continuity it rings on both the white wire and the orange wire. does this mean that my CDI would be good and the coil has a ground fault? any ideas?
Thanks.
