I was just wondering what all of you thought. I know I left out the newer chassis but out of the three listed which do you like the best?
jst854
No Pro X chasis?? i had to go with the edge for total perforamce out of those three
NewfieBullet
I love the look of the Wedge, but the Edge was an awesome chassis in it's day. Very predictable and forgiving.
rock2324
just my .02.....the 2003 xcr 800 was a kick ass sled..
crdude
There was a reasen they used the wedge for so long... lol

I like the wedge best, but theres no question about it, the edge IS the best.

to bad I own two gen2's... IMO one of the ugly sleds polaris built, but when you find a skeeeeemin deal on them its hard to pass it up.

NO, i think the ugliest from recent years would be the aggresive chassis. Now those were butt ugly, but they sounded sweet with the triple pipes.

Love my Edge, loved my Wedge also. They took all the great traits of the Wedge (flew flat, stable on hits and in the rough and a rock solid chassis able to take hits with minimal damage) and incorporated that into the Edge with all together an even better suspension package.

The Edge skid is the best skid out there that i have ridden IMO. The low handlebar/seating position is its only bad part of the chassis, but only when it gets real rough. The sled will do it, no questions asked. Raising the handlebars with a 3" pivot adapter would be key to a better position moving the bars up and forward and getting your butt off the seat easier helping you to stand in the extended rough stuff. After riding newer sleds for a period and then going back to the low position you see the benefits. However, what the Edge skid soaks up and then additionally takes on the bigger hits is remarkable. Just make sure your not sitting over the back axle when the '--IT hits the fan', slide up!
ACEXCR800
GEN II with an Edge rear suspension.
Ultra8
I have a couple wedges XCR and Ultra fun sleds
One 600 XCR aggresive to much of a pig for my liking
One 2000 RMK Gen II fun light sled in the deep stuff a little rough on the trail
03 RMK 925 PSI fun in the deep a little punishing at speed on the trail
03 Pro X 600 Great all around trail sled
04 Edge 800 XCR conversion fun trail sled a little porky in the deep
04 Pro-X w/660 carls slp twins another fun trail unit
Going to pick up a 05 IQ 440 to play around with I have 700VES big block to install in it

My vote is the Pro-X/Edge sleds for now
fixjunkdaly
My 2000 xc600sp is probably the best sled I have ever owned more because of the engine. The 98 xc600 was also a phenomenal sled. I guess its a tie between the wedge and the gen2.

By todays standards, the best isn't on the list. It has to be the IQ chassis. If I can't vote for it, then the Edge would have to be the better, but mostly for it's suspension. If the Edge rear is put under the GenII, it would be hard to find fault with that one too. As nice as the Wedge is, it has to be at the bottom of the list for it's headlight. They plain suck when riding with later model sleds - you ride in a shadow when they are in back of you. That's no fun at all.

best chassis i think would be the 08IQr chsssis and the 04 proxr chassis. consumer stuff the iq dragons and the 04 prox's

Actually i found those older aggressive chassis polaris put the triple triples in to be quite nice for cruising groomed trails at speed.....just think how good that sled might have been with an edge skid in it. Headlight on the aggressive was as good as some of the stuff today. The old wedge chassis was good for drag races...not much else.

I voted the EDGE in but I would have to say the IQ is a better rig. But the EDGE has some very strong points as well. I have finnaly got my EDGE TRAIL RMK 700 to where I wan't it chassis wise. I just need some better shocks and a taller seat. They have to be the smoothest sit down sled on snow, and in an open cross country race they do very well for being older. And plus there has to be a million different mods you can make to an EDGE sled to make it your own. Plus there are still ALLOT of parts floating around for them. So it has allot of very good atributes that are worth looking at.

nothing looks better than a slammed down wedge for ice!! nothing is faster than a wedge chassis, and its dang hard to get lighter as well.

obviously for trail riding the newer the better handling.

I always thought the gen2's looked girly.... I think its the weird looking headlight that makes me not like how it looks.

Hey, what about the Evolved Chassis??? haha, just kidding... edge all the way baby!
800rider
Edge then aggressive chassis. Evolution= bent front bumper ( then bumper hit first, before the skiis when going through gulches.

This is a hard one. Wedge, no one thought it could be any better, we all skoffed at A ams. AWS what number? LOL It was a great ride for the time. Gen II, Best flat cornering chassis to date. First year definately the fastest, so much for not buying the first year. Edge, great ride. lots of controlable inside ski lift. Stay in the throttle you could touch your shoulder on the snow. Fun to ride. Suspension sucked up lots of power. Looks, Edge the best. Seating, Edge the best. Handling, Gen II the best. Top Speed, Gen II the best. Easiest to find some used parts to fixer up again, Wedge the best. As others have said IQ is light years ahead of all of these and POO still boasts the best is yet to come. Can't wait 2010. Hope there is a Polaris Birthday Party.

Madcow is right on....

The ugliest would have to be the aggressive and the Evolved.....Remember the Baby blue and pink 500 Classic.Yum,Yum
