Just wondering if anyone has a 08 dragon 600 switchback and what you like about it? Or don't? How is the mileage, performance, and ride?
Anyone?

I bought one towards the end of the season. By far the most fun sled I've ever owned. Love the way it rides and handles. I've had it just over 100 on the speedo, VERY quick. I got any where from 12 to 15 mpg. Oil usage was high, but I did'nt get it adjusted yet. I have just under a thousand miles on it, and did replace a belt. I was doing some off trail riding, and got stuck and smoked the original belt. Other than that, the sled was flawless.

It's not the fastest, best mileage sled out there in the 600 class (from what I've seen), BUT, I do think it's probably the best all around sled out there for my usage. I'm sure all my buddies with 600 renegades would disagree, but last I knew I am the one paying for the sled and I'm very happy I bought it.

I ride with several people with 800's, and by their own admission, they have to work to get by on the trail. The lake is a different story, but that's not why people by a 600 class sled. good luck with whatever you choose, they're all great when they run, and junk when they break. and eventually, they all break.

I bought one three weeks ago, and have 0 miles on it. I have a 02 xc7 now and love it. I did install a 136" track on the 700 and loved it, this is why I bought a switchback. However, I wanted a 700 switchback dragon, I waited too long, and there is none to be had. I did however pick up the new girl for $7995, which I thought was an awesome price. This was the dealer getting the rebates etc. I drove a fusion 600 and it went real well from 0 to 80, and in the trail would blow my xc7 away. On the lake maybe a different story. But I have been told that 0 to 80 these sleds are the ones to beat.

I heard the oil consumption was high on those as well. My 02 700 was awesome on oil! But my friend Willie up in Quebec canada says the oil pumps are adjusted way too rich. Did you adjust yours yet?

I haven't adjusted the oil yet. It did seem to improve on oil as it got miles on it. No explanation for that. 0 to 80 the thing is an animal. It may be a little quicker than the 600 renegade, but for some reason they seem to be faster on top. In the trails, though, the Dragon ROCKS. I've always had 800's, 900's, and a 750 fst, and this 600 sb is the most fun i've had on a sled, not to mention it's the most trouble free. Gas, oil, and go.

Nice to see you love that 600. I can't wait to get out on mine. I truly loved the XC7 I had and that was my second one. But I was nervous on going down in size on the sled, but I have been told I will be OK. The new 600's are as quick or quicker s the old 700's, and way better on gas. From what I've been told. I think Polaris hit the nail on the head with the 136" switchback. I personally got better gas mileage on my 136" XC7 I converted than when it was a 121" Why? All I can say is maybe it spins alot less and takes less throttle to get it going out of a corner.

Beyond the obvious track length - how would you compare the 08 Dragon IQ 700 to the switchback? I do more ditch banging and trail riding where I want cornering and straight line acceleration than I do anything else.

136" hooks up better/spins less than a 121"er. It also bridges the bumps and rides smoother IMHO.

i agree with both points. I had a 128, and the 136 is better than that too.
