The trails are pretty good as you ride all the roads pretty much as as the snowmobile trails. The trails are mostly on the West side of route three. You can ride to youngs to get gas. Also have good mud areas too. Not sure as to when they open, I Loved riding the Banshee up there when I had it...

Now that I can borrow my uncles quad to ride I'm going to try and ride the trails up there. Damn thing needs new tires though. Never ridden a quad on real trails before, just behind his house and on "trails" in my town.

The GNWR trails are a refreshing change from the rock trails that some of the southern NE trails have become. In most cases you will not need to use 4WD but on some of the steeper trails it is nice to have. Some muddy trails, some 'off road' trails, the roads (class 6?) that we know as 142, 146 and out towards Indian Stream in the winter are nice flat ATV 'trails' . A sport quad or 2WD quad like a Outlaw you can use pretty well there also. Gas is also available at Dorman's as well as Young's.
Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. The local businesses would appreciate your business too.

No. Would be cool if the trail system expanded though to some to other venues. You can grab lunch at Happy Corner if you want to ride your ATV there and hit the trails again.

The only thing I know is, the "plan" has been approved and I don't have anything definite as to what that means as far as more access and trails. Stay tuned to the ATV club web site later this month for updates on what will be happening in P'burg this ATV season.

I now have a used quad and am thinking of bringing it up north this year. Can you register at Youngs or Dubes or anywhere else right up there or does this have to be done through the state ahead of time?
Anyone know the cost to register?
I just looked on the clubs website and I either missed the information about my questions or its not there. I was surprised to see 3 wheelers are allowed - I have an old honda 110 3-wheeler the kids tinker around on that maybe I'll bring up also...

I have found through my experience that not all places you can get a snowmobile reg from do the ATV's also.

For NH Residents $58, out of state $73. Remember if you want to ride before July 1, 2008 you must have a current 2007 NH ATV registration. Yes, you can register at Young's Store, but they don't have any of the 2007 stickers left so, you will need to mail in the registration form with your fee to F&G in Concord, NH if you want a 2007 registration to use before July 1st.

If it is powered it also must have three or more wheels to ride on the Pittsburg trails, at the landowners' request. i.e. no motorcycles or dirt bikes.

Unfortunately you can't Pittsburg PD will pick you up and it will also give the atv club a bad name and we don't need that. As far as the trail we have tried to get a trail through to beach RD. but Fish and Game own some of the land in there, they walked it with us and even though its a gravel road basically they told us they purchased it with a portion of federal money which prohibits atv use.

Thank you for the information! But that blows!

Why not have the registrations renew at the beginning of the year. I suppose it doesn't matter for those that register each year but for a new person coming in I am not going to register now for one ride (memorial day weekend) when I won't be back up to ride again until the 4th of July.. Oh well. I should be hiking Memorial day weekend getting in touch with the black flies anyways..

Yes it is not the way we would like it to be. We went through all this last year here on HCS. Until F&G decides to change the term of the registration we must live with it.

p.s. It will take a large amount of complaints before F&G will change, if EVER!

Once you get the cycle going though you are okay. If you register 4th of July week this year your good for opening day next year.
