I hadnt seen anything posted in here and I know that I am not the only one from PA that goes to NY to ride. Anyhow, $1 MILLION was taken from the sled fund for grooming and put into the general state fund. We need to voice our concerns to the governor. I dont know of a letter typed up for us out of staters yet, but we need to be making our voices heard and helping those in NY get their money back. Hopefully a letter is typed up for us to send in that is smart and intelligent to help plead our case.

There are several threads in the NY forum.

They've got a lot of "foul" stuff going on up there in NY. That's why i don't ride there anymore.

That and the fact that they want everyone to join a club or pay $100 for a registration and now after the first full year of the new fees they take a million of it for the general fund. Are you kidding me? I can see the club joining for those instate but for those of us that want to ride a couple times a year up there it doesn't make sense, especially if they are going to keep stealing the money for other things.

I agree the $100 registration fee is ridiculous. The last couple years, I decided to save the NY $$ and to put the money towards a couple out of state sled trips. It only costs $26/year for a sportsman card and a trail pass for Michigan (They honor PA reg.). I thought NY trails and groomers were great ... till I went to MI !!

Where did you ride in Michigan? I've been riding in the U.P. since the early 90's and just buy a trail permit each year, it's only $25 each year and the sticker is 3 1/2" x 2" and is good for the whole year and you don't have to worry about loosing the sportsman card for next year to save a $1 and you don't have to buy a sportsmans card, just a trail permit. You should be able to get a trail permit just about anywhere in Michigan??? m2c.gif
