a title or transferrable registration should do it. I wont get started on how much of a pain it was to register one i bought i CT. with no papers. good luck.

A signed title and a bill of sale should do it..

Also bring a pencil tracing of the VIN number with you.

i bought a sled in vt this winter and i live in mass. all i wanted to dowas register it in n.y. without registering it in mass because i was never going to ride it there. the lady i talked to in the loweville motor vehicle was like "do youself a favor and register it in mass, it will a whole lot easier to get a n.y. registration. i never realized they were so strict about proper paperwork.

Just reg it the first year in your home state and then reg in NY, then the next year NY will auto mail you the reg paperwork in aug and you won't need to show home state stuff.

Amen, take ownership in your home state first, then it is simple in NY. Without it you need notorized bill of sale, certificate of origin, etc.... not fun. It took me 4 trips to DMV before i had all my tee's croosed & I's dotted. Good luck.
