I will be running a 03 700 rmk with an slp single and 156 track and setting it up with a team clutch, I have been debating on weather to use standard weights, heelclickers, or slp mtx weights. The only ones I havent used are the mtxs any opinions on these? I have looked at slps chart but they dont have any recomendations for a long track at low elevation, I will be riding at low elevation boondocking in the up ,and at high elevation out west on a trip or two, and looking for something that holds rpms while climbing and is responsive. also the motor is out of an xc and I was thinking of having the cdi changed to rmk programing and adding a head is it worth finding a used rktek or are the slps just as good? what should I use for a secondary setup? I would like a shopping list of parts to watch for on ebay this summer
The Slp heads are NOT just as good as the Rkt head. I've tried them back to back. BIG diff in favor of the RKT. Heelclickers is a good choice to get it working great but one blown belt it it likes to rip the long neck of the clickers off. I'm not sure of the dragonflys but I suspect the same thing will happen. They are a great weight though. My sled was an 02 700 rmk ridden at 1500 feet and up.
Don't waste your money on reeds the stock ones work great. Do the head with a SLP pipe witht the slp airbox inlet with speedo florite and put an engine stop on the mag side to help keep the mounts in one piece.
