Wonder what this might mean for snowmobilers and others ?

Wow, it could be very bad news or good news. This one will need to be watched. Too bad the state couldn't pick it up.

Fortunately this tract of land comes with permanent easements to allow snowmobiling.

Not a bad deal, purchase the acreage for $80 +/- per acre, sell off the good timber as well as easements and sell for $300 +/- per acre.

Thats my back yahd! well, hopefully some land baron lichtenstein wont buy it and convert it to box stores and cities,..like I said before,..we are at a crossroads,. "MY" way of life is ending, the newbies will be in control soon,..glad Im getting older, not much to look foreward to lately as far as land use goes........

Essex hasn't sold much timber so far.....and no one will for at least 20 more years. Still have lots of forestry work to do on this land to remove the overstory to encourage the better quality trees to grow. But the easement on this should allow snowmobiling forever unless the state of feds buys this. To me, the worst case is that it leaves private ownership and becomes public land.

Time will tell who ends up with it.

Let hope its not Fed Govt or anything to do w/ the ANR. If it is one of those you can be sure there long term plan will be closure of most of it and foot traffic only to and extent.
