Looking at a 2001 MXZ 440 fan for my son (14)How well did these engines stand up. How fast are they capable of going Were they a decent sled?

I bought my daughter a 2002 mxz 500 fan this year and it is a pretty good sled.She put on 1500 kms and no problems. I believe hearing the 440 was a better sled but don't quote me on that.The only thing I found was that the fan doesn't have the punch as a liquid does but then again thats what i drive and is use to. I'm changing the front springs as the stock ones don't have any adjustments on them and it is nice to have a little more down pressure at times. Good Luck
