I just stumbled across the Winter 1990 edition of Snowmobile magazine in one of the closets, and I had to sit down and read it cover to cover. The pictures of the "new" sleds in 1990 were awesome...the Prowler, the Mach 1, etc. What intrigued me the most, however, was the "Look into the Future" column in the back. The author predicted in 1990 that by 2010 "Global Positioning Satellites will allow us to press a button on our sled and immediately receive a read-out of where the nearest pitstop (gas), motel, and restaurant are located." Not that I'm constantly riding in places that are unfamiliar to me, but that is a feature I would like!

Another prediction for 2015 is for fully enclosed and heated "cabs" to replace the current "open air" style. No thanks...give me the fresh air in my face!

X2 on the fresh air. If my REV XP came with a cab, I would Sawzall it right off the first day.

id be chopping off the cab also!! I want the wind in my face. Would there really be a difference between a car or a sled??
