Clicky on de Linky for fun video of XP 120x1.25 in snow.
Mike and I took a weekday off, it just snowed a foot about 2 days before, now the snow is wet heavy and hard going, tough to get over 80mph in this. This is my favorite location for riding where we live. It's a 12 mile section of camelback hills, some of them the camera does not do justice regarding how steep some of the hills are.
Mike is on a 05 400 with 700 skidoo mod engine - Me on XP 800 with ripsaw 1.25 track, 377 belt and stock 27 top gear.
I like this location because there are no rocks…”or other riders”, its blow sand base & I know every bump so I can drive as fast as possible, putting the clutching to a good test with high speed running in heavy load changes, snow depth, long hill climbs.
I love hearing Mike's twin pipe sled, he's a skinny dude about 135lbs and is flat out throttle to keep beside me most times. In a drag deep start snow, he pulls out ahead of me 2 lengths [mike 1.75" track] and I reel him in and can go by him by about 5mph. I am 240 lbs so the XP sled isn’t doing too bad for a big guy. heh heh...
Now that Im done clutch calibration, I dunno what track i'm gonna put in the sled. I was thinking of 15" wide x 1.5" Ripsaw @ 37lbs or the Challenger 16" wide x 1.75" @39lbs.
The 600 race sled has a 15" x 120 but I just don't like the stiff paddle, too much vibration when having to run on the trail between powderl running. I wish there was a 15" wide soft paddle instead of the hard paddle. The 15 is more fun as you can put the sled on its side easier when carving in the snow.
The people at BRP, I just want to say I loooOO00OOoove my sled, another big THANKS to BRP for making kicker-of-arse-sled!!!!!
