What is a TEMPAFLOW and what does it do? I've read a lot of comments about it but never heard of them. Also where would you purchase them?

This compensator automatically adjusts carb jetting for all temperatures and is set to work with -20F (-29C) carb jetting for snowmobiles. It can easily be adjusted, however, to work with jetting for any temperature. There is an external screw which easily provides manual altitude adjustment effective for up to a 6000 foot (1800 meter) elevation change. We recommend this compensator for the user who wants "set and forget" temperature adjustment with normally less than 2000 feet of elevation change or occasional mountain riding.

Just to clear that up a bit. The compensator regulates the vacuum (inches of water) to the float bowls which changes (I think) the atmospheric pressure applyed to the fuel in the float bowls through the bowl vents. When the piston goes up in the cyl it causes a vacuum (low pressure) and the atmospheric pressure (high pressure 14.7 lbs per sq inch) forces the fuel through the main jet, needle jet and into the engine. Therefore if you have good throttle responce at 0*F you will have the same throttle responce at 40*F because the temperature senative compensator will regulate the amount of atmospheric pressure that is applyed to the fuel in the flot bowl. Anyhow thats how I think it works ?

Ok I'm confused but thats ok I'm always confused. Is that a picture of them under your comments, I assume so. Where would I purchase them, what size main jets would you run and do they work that well ??
My set-up is speedwerks into stock canister v-force reeds, stock air box that is gutted, but I do have a D&D breather top for it, updated ignition, B.M. clutch kit for it. I'm running 330 main jets which is to small because I melted it down last dec. I talked to the people at speedwerks corp. and was told use 380 main jets, but some of the guys on HCS are giving me different sizes. I'm trying to find out what would be the best mains with the tempaflow and how good do they work.
P.S. Fuel milage is not what I'm after.My buddy has an 06 MACH Z and want to light him up next year or at least try without blowing it up.

You can also purchase it from Randy @ gobigparts.com he's a sponsor here. Instalation is pretty simple but the directions are terrible.... when you get it and read the directions just ask on here how to install it. Once it's installed you have to decide what you want your baseline temp to be. Most people stick with the -20f setting that is preset on the unit, you can easily just turn the screw on the tempaflow if you want your baseline to be 0f. Your base temp is the coldest temp you will ever ride in, if your sled is set up from the factory with 0f jetting and it runs good at that temp then you would only need to install the tempaflow and turn the screw 1/8 turn to go from -20f to 0f and then your sled will always run like it does when it's 0f out. You will also get better gas mileage because as the air temp rises the tempaflow automatically leans out your sled.

Thats great how it works now but still don't know what size main jets I should be using.

start with 400 mains and go down from there. there is a guy selling a complete motor package that will wake that thing up and will be sure to leave the Z to see nothing but snow flap. i think it is all D&D which has been proven to make power and still be trail safe. looking at the photos that were posted, he was running a tempaflow so he may be able to offer advice....
