I wish we wouldn't get it, too late now, just going to be a big mess, lakes are bad, and most trails closed anyhow.

If you are in Sawyer county I'd either head to town to get ready for a few days in the cabin or get some fresh gas to play. It looks like it wont be the snow thats a real issue but the winds that make it interesting.

I live here year round, no cabin, not worried about snow, my wife will be driving to work in it in my truck, the roads will be plowed unless they pull them off, and I always have 50 gallons or more gas here.
I am East of Hayward about 23 miles.

We are already in the rain here and we dont need it at all. 20 miles as the crow flies south of Madison. Flooding is already an issue and the forecast is for a couple more inches before its all said and done. Luckily our home is high enough so it wont be an issue but local roads are covered, lakes, streams and creeks are over the banks. Went canoeing last weekend and it was pretty fun and it looks like sunday we will be able to do stuff that isnt normally doable.
I also try to keep gas around and the other day as I was headed to town for a refill I dumped what was left on a brush pile to get it lit. That container had sat about 3 weeks and I have had diesel fuel start faster. This new stuff goes bad fast. How do you keep yours fresh?
I try, really hard lately, to keep a good attitude about weather and roll with what we get but I'm really getting tested this year.
Good luck to you and stay warm and try to have fun!

I live on the south shore of the big lake by Superior and they are predicting 16+ inches. Got my snopro ready last night.

I use the fuel up quite fast, either the sleds, ATV's, chainsaws, or cars and truck. Race fuel is in barrels.
We could use rain/snow here, been way too dry for a couple years, I have a half acre pond which went dry last summer, first time ever, it's 5 feet deep normally.

Lake levels should be up to just below normal levels by about May. Maybe not the great lakes but inland lakes for sure. Low lake levels are not all that bad of a thing. Really cuts down on erosion. Plants pop back up in the shallow depths and keep down the wave action erosion. Army Corps draws down the Mississippi every few years for just that reason. For those in the Northwoods have fun with the snow.

Where will you be staying? If we get enough, I'll be out on the forest roads too.

snow during this time of year is usually nothing but a pain in the ass!
We just got done movng all the snow that came off the warehouse roof, the lot is partially thawed and real difficult to plow now.

60 degrees by midweek! Rock on!!

I had enough, we need this crap outta here and the lakes to thaw for fishing season!!

Are the lakes going to be open for fishing. I think North twin opened around the 22nd of April last year!
