My buddy has an 01 mxz 700 and wants to install handlebar hooks but there are the heater wires inside the bars. Do you have to get new grips/heaters to make this work? Also what is the highest riser you could put on without extending any cables/wires? Thanks

Friend of mine put hookers on his 02 800 mx and all he did was cut the end out of the grips and the hook slides in and just tighten the screw and all done, didn't hurt anything inside.

X2

The wires are unaffected

As far as risers... there is serious debate...I have 4 inch and didn't extend anything with no rub...and I could probably goto 6 inch

I think it all depends how tight the factory tech. zip tied/rachet tied everything together...

A few well position snips of those ties and you get alot of extra room.......re-zip when done to keep them out of the way as the factory intended to do...

i have a 00 mxz 600
i put sportech hooks on, just cut the end of the grips
and i put on the power madd pivot adapter and that added 3 inches with a few zipties cut
