Can we assume that you have started. The skid is removed and the chaincase is drained and opened up? and you are getting ready to remove the shaft?

first loosen your chain. drain your chaincase oil, there should be a plug at the bottom and a hole through the belly pan for it to run out. take off all the bolts leaving on your chaincase cover. when thats off wipe up all the oil that didnt get drained out. then put your brake lock on and break loose the bolts holding on the upper and bottom gears. makek sure you remember which way they go on. then slip off the two gears and chain. now go over to the other side of the sled and break loose the speedo cable and drive. there are three pan head bolts that hold the bearing keeper there. take the nuts all the way off and that should slide off. repeat on the chaincase side and the driveshaft should wobble out. i cant remember if there is a bearing keeper in the chaincase or not....been a couple months for me to open it up.....once you open it up and look at it it is pretty much self explanatory and straight forward. just ask help on here if you run into any problems.

you dont have to remove the chain case unless there is 4 drives which there is not on your sled, jsut the gear and the speedo side barring and you should be able to slide the shaft out and drop ot down diagranal to get the track in and out.

When you go back together with things: check the oil seal on the chain case side of your drive shaft. I usually replace them good or bad. Use blue loctite on the 5/16 bolt holding on the lower gear. While you have it apart grease the left side bearing on your drive shaft with a needle fitting on your grease gun. You will notice that there are tiny holes in the outer race. That is the only way it gets grease. I can't tell you how many of these I have replaced because the holes get plugged up and won't take grease.
