If ya think than sta-bil or running the engine until it quits removes all the gas it doesn't on the older 38VM t-cats, about 2oz. of gas is left in the bowl. The drain tubes are to low to open. The gas in the older t-cats has no oil in it, so after time the fuel turns to a redish scale and waits for the first start-up, then the scale works it's way into the pilot and main jets. the drain tubes are to low to open without pulling the carbs off(93-94 t-cats). It would be best to start sled every mo. or maybe premix the gas at the end of the year.

Remove the carbs, it's easy to do and cheap insurance. Stabil just keeps the gas thats in you're lines and pump fresher. I do both aswell as fogging the motor every spring , even if you store the sled in a dry garage. Oil is cheap, crank bearings are very expensive. Do yourself a big favor , take a little extra time and fog the sled, then drain the carbs. Cheap insurance for a very epensive motor.

You must drain the carbs to get the fuel out. You cannot run them dry, never. Put stabil in the fuel and run for a while and then pull the carbs. My 3500 Honda generator actually has a little drain on the bottom of the float bowl which is very nice.
