was up in NH rideing and seen these guys running on the lake, hey what the f%&$ can i get in with a nod of the head. I ride a 900 switchback that hauls ass all stock at least thats what i thought, well i rode away with my pride a little bruised, even though im a rookie at lake racing, whats the deal longer track make it more diffcult to grab? or is it im just a new be? personally i think the power band is right there, i guess i could use more off the line, not that im going to be racing the lakes, just want that extrra push off the line or to get the most hp out out of the machine, any set ups gearings, weights for the the clutch, whatever will work will be great and who might set it for top notch. WANNA BRING BACK RESPECT TO THE POLARIS FAITHFULL

I guess I never thought the 900 Switchback was a ice drag sled, my old 98 XCR 700 tow sled would walk those pretty good.

Thats great LOL
reminds me of when Marv Jorgenson was helping someone at the radar runs and was making passes directly behind the 'Speed run sled" with his "tow sled" in the mid 120s

I'm surprised marv didn't take one of his 502 Cu. IN. V/8 motorcycles for a run on the lake.

There is not much I would put past him but he will only run as fast as he needs to to win. He once showed up with a turbo rx1 and made a half dozen passes, I cant remember the speeds he was running but he was winning his class with a tie and we told him and the other driver to start tuning because if the tie wasnt settled by the end of the day, which was pretty closewe would simply flip a coin for the trophy, after hearing that ON THE STARTING LINE ready to run he set the sled down off the stand without touching it and ran over 10 mph faster

He "touched" the hidden boost control knob? Or, the nitrous button? LOL!

I have been to a few lake races/drags. ( I dont race, because I am stock and only 600) I will tell you one thing. IF you are stock you will not win. Doesn't matter if you are in a 440 class or 1000 class, because everyone has that motor and has it bored out to the max and piped, etc. If you want to win every race take it to the shop and give him your sled and about $4000 say, I want to win!

He had a boondocker box below the handle bars and the boost controller was under the hood which I saw while they had the hood up earlier in the day, I was actually looking for a nitrous button, and diddnt see one (suprisingly, again, not totaly sure it wasnt there lol). The secret was that there was a slight bump at about 700 feet where he would lift off the throttle a little bit, he simply made a pass without doing that, or just lifted less.

jaws sled is good for that. at mora he ran a sputtery 132 mph, pulled it back into line and they opened a box of crispy creams. about an hour later noone touching it ran a 162 mph pass.
